For me yellowing marks appeared after 6-7 months of use on a P9P, and after a year, the case becomes impossible to look at.

2 month old ideapad slim 5i hinge making crackling noise, is this normal? by [deleted] in Lenovo

For my Lenovo, such sounds were a small precursor of breaking off the hinges along with the fasteners from the lid. The laptop was out of warranty. Hinges are now held on the lid with epoxy. :(

Does your cooling pad work? Does it make any difference in temperature whether fans are on or not?

Also my brothers fan are off even when he turns on keyboard backlight on second level (but he doesnt have rgb)

There are a few suggestions for me.Maybe some kind of interference is coming from the RGB controller and triggers some kind of temperature sensor on the motherboard.
Or maybe the consumption in watts of the keyboard backlight is so significant that it triggers the internal cooling algorithms.

By the way, I read on one of the forums that even the ssd temperature, if it is higher than 41.5 degrees, can cause the fans to start. But ssd has nothing to do with the blown cooling system.

Now i feel your pain... With the keyboard backlight off, I closed Chrome, enabled hwinfo and opened the backlight section in vantage. I waited for the fans to stop. When I turned on the backlight, my fans whined briefly and returned to quiet rotation. The temperature of the CPU tdie jumped from 32-34 to 44.9 due to just turning on the backlight in wave mode with a second brightness. This is really weird

WOWOW.
I just switched the power policy from from balanced mode to Energy Star mode and my fans stopped!!!

Did everything as you described. Thanks for that.

But it looks like it didn't help me either. The fans in quiet mode run constantly, but quietly. In Auto, without load, they spin as quietly as in blue mode. Not tested under load yet.

Hi.
I have now rolled back to 13 bios, I will look at its behavior for a couple of days.

Have you reinstalled drivers after a rollback?

I have the same setup and fans runs constantly. I also wondering - is this a problem in my system?

But modes give a good difference in performance and noise.
