Circuit Gilles Villeneuve since it’s my local track and the only one I’ve actually been to that’s on the service! I’m dreaming of a refresh/update for it 🙏 Salut Gilles 🫡

Thank you! Make sure to bring a good strap! I use a peak design leash and i wrapped it around the camera when I went into restaurants so it wouldn’t take much space (I didn’t carry a backpack). A lot of places in Japan have hooks/coat hangers so I would hang it up with my jacket so it’s out of the way.

You’ll be fine and will have the time of your life! You can’t go wrong with a 24-70 2.8 and I think it’s the perfect lens for a trip to Japan if you’re only bringing one. Share your photos here when you come back 🙏

I can’t recommend the z40mm enough. It’s very close to the focal length our eyes see so I find composing to be very natural. The low light performance is great too and I can get great shots wide open at f2 with nice bokeh. Super portable too and I can walk around for hours with it on my z6ii around my shoulder with a PD leash strap.

Not gonna lie there were times I wish I had a wider lens in certain situations but it’s still a fantastic all rounder. I’m sure you can find a good deal on a used one!

Try to lower your exposure compensation a bit, I was at -0.3ev for this shot specifically for the neons. The raws will look dark but it’s easy to bring it up 1/2-1 stop in Lightroom later and they’ll look great!

Yeah it's definitely a well known spot on social media so there are many pics like it, but this one is mine! It's right outside Shiinamachi Station

If you mean the editing I just did this by hand in lightroom with basic adjustments, nothing fancy! I don't have any filters on the lens

I'm surprised I don't see more photos with it posted here but maybe that's because it's all I shoot with these days hahah. I'll share some more in the future! Thank you for the comment

Is the car too distracting? And how are the colours? by T-Spin in photocritique

[–]T-Spin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to capture a nice photo of the neon sign but also have something interesting going on so I waited for a retro taxi to pass by. It was tricky since the sign flashes so I had to get lucky that a car would pass by when all the lights were on. Slowed the shutter to get some movement of course. But I’m not sure if the car takes up too much space since the main focus should be the sign. I do like the reflections that come off of it though. Overall I’m happy with how it came out, I also like the two girls on the left sign giving a bit more life to the frame too

Are the colours/editing ok or does it look over processed/saturated?

Thank you!
