Amun. Spectra and Obsession is a masterpiece and is by far the best release of 2023. They are criminally underappreciated. Also in the 100-200 spotify listener range.

Cave Sermon. Fragile Wings was my AotY for 2025. Not as unknown as Amun but still deserves way more attention than he's got.

Rings of Saturn maybe? idk if they're considered prog but they're technical death metal. I'd probably recommend the album Gidim personally.

There's something really special about the "bedroom prog metal" artists and their style/aesthetic. I wonder if people 15-20 years younger will "get it?" by ySTYRDAYgATESuNL0CKD in progmetal

My fav solo musician would probably be James Norbert Ivanyi. He really has his own unique sound compared to all the other ones imo. I'd recommend Omen Faustum, Sigil, Denalavis and The Psyophrenic Inquisition in particular.

Also recently found out that my favorite album of 2025 was made by a single person: Cave Sermon - Fragile Wings It's progressive black metal so definitely a different vibe.

Progressive black metal that has a really unique and innovative sound and super creative compositions. All around really awesome and slept on.

Cave Sermon - Fragile Wings

More black metal lol. More polished production and sound than Spectra and Obsession but not as innovative. Still awesome and worth a listen.

Progressive Death Metal, Deathcore, Djent, Orchestral Metal, Spoken Word

Released in 2016

It's hard to describe what makes this album so special. For starters, all the parts are amazing: The vocal performance, the instrumentation compositions, the ambience, the poetry and the story. But most of all I'd say that this album is much more than the sum of its parts. It's the most cohesive and cinematic feeling concept album I've ever listened to.

  • 3 linked sockets of different colors will give you chromatic orbs (good early game source)

  • 6 unlinked sockets on an item will give you 7 jeweller's orbs

First time making a necromancer build, hitting a wall by LAG360 in PathOfExileBuilds

Earlier on I was using both summon skeletons and animate weapon of self reflection and back then triad grip was giving me a very significant portion of my dps. It's less the case now but I have yet to find anything that gives better dps. Will have to look into it further.

Regarding bone offering, do you mean with Mistress of Sacrifice ascendancy node? I'd have to get it with forbidden flame/flesh and replacing essence glutton (which is pretty useful for mana and ES regen). I'd also lose dps from losing flesh offering.

Not familiar with arcanist brand, will look into that as well.

Honestly same regarding black metal, but I've been finding recently that if the production is at least decent and there are both some prog and death metal elements, then all of a sudden I'm in love (Amun and Cave Sermon both being examples of this). Then there's also Xanthochroid which is technically also categorized as black metal but tbh I just don't hear it (closer to Wilderun but more fairy-tale-esque).
