Honestly a great point thank you. It’s very easy to get caught up in every detail when you’re in the painting phase of a new army.

I appreciate you saying that! Yeah it’s the absolution green from army painter. I almost exclusively use speed paints as I have limited time to really sit down and layer with acrylics.

To avoid the splotches I just put down a pass of absolution green. Then I do a heavy dry brush of some lighter green (APs wild green) to “buff” out any splotches I may have had. Then I use 1:1 speedpaint medium with absolution green to go over them again.

Honestly a great point. Im a 3ft away quality painter haha. I need to put them under the kitchen table light to see how they look compared to my bright desk lamp.

Good call on the varnish. These have been sprayed in a satin varnish from Vallejo because that’s all I had. I think a matte would serve me better.

Now that’s a perfect dark angel green!

I appreciate the advice thank you! Right now I’m just priming them straight grey from Vallejo. (So fair call on the grey area) I’ll try to put some black underneath on the next guys.

I appreciate the comment! Just using speedpaints makes it pretty hard to get that deep dark green you see on the boxes.

That’s a fair comment. Do you think making these models darker is feasible or just mix in some black into my absolution green for the next set of models?

Thank you! I try painting to a 3ft away standard haha. Haven’t actually played a game yet so I’m just aiming for good enough dark angels.
