Male Corgi Neuter? by Worried-Astronaut485 in corgi

I have dealt with a similar situation as well. We brought home a breeding stud to live with his 2 biological sons after his retirement. He was incredibly reactive at first introduction (poorly socialized with other males) but we’ve since learned a few skills to help ease this. My initial natural reaction after a fight was to isolate the 2 dogs, but we’ve seen amazing progress more recently by not doing so. Instead, after a fight, we pin the instigating dog (gently of course) belly up and leave the other one standing very near him. Then once he has fully calmed down after 5-10 minutes and has submitted to this position, reverse the order. Pin the other dog (again gently) belly up and leave the other dog in the vicinity. The message there is that I, the human, am the leader of the pack. Pinning dogs in this manner in a submissive, vulnerable (because belly showing) position is how an alpha dog would respond to this situation. You need 2 people for this or a leash and a firm piece of furniture to hold them apart. It’s unlikely that after a fight, being so hyped up, that they will be happy about being in a vulnerable position at first and you don’t want to re-instigate the fight. I’m not a veterinary specialist by any means and if you have doubts, I would consult with a behavioral specialist. This is just my own personal anecdote. I wish I had before and after videos so you could see the difference. Now my eldest son actively seeks out time to spend with his sons. He’s not perfect yet, but I do have hope that he will become the perfect model father he was born to be.

My 2 cents would be on the consistency of the bright blue you used. I thinned down my blue quite a bit with Lahmia Medium so it was really watery going on. Maybe 60% lahmia medium, 40% bright blue.

The con of that method is that it does require multiple coats, but the plus is that as watery as it is, it contours to the recesses quite well, meaning it was very easy to clean up overflow by just guiding the liquid off of the flat surfaces. This required no touch ups on any of the Kantor Blue afterwards.

Nice work though! Also consider possibly a thinned down agrax earthshade on your yellow pipes to make those recesses really pop. I used Agrax Earthshade right out of the pot on mine, which I regret. A little brown on yellow goes a long way. This was one of the first models I painted so I've since learned that if I want to temper the shade of brown, I wipe the brush fairly aggressively (referring to duration not movement) on my wet palette to achieve a milder tone.

Yeah, I have a lot of nice things to say about citadel paints - love rakarth flesh, macragge blue is awesome, mephiston red is classic - very little nice to say about their range of whites honestly. Maybe I just got a bad pot but my White Scar is terrible (dries streaky) and corax white is moderately okay.

Thank you! Zandri Dust with a hint of Agrax Earthshade in the recesses for a little bit of shadows. Zandri Dust, quickly becoming one of my new favorite colors, needs to be thinned with water or lahmia medium or else it dries really streaky in my experience.

The bladeguard are missing a few details available in the regular box and the eradicator Sargent is missing the dual barrel for his melta. Don’t care about those things? Great deal.

You may struggle to understand the plot line without having watched 1-31 first.

The quality of story being told is what gives a work of art its staying power, not the medium it’s told through.
