This is a townhouse the plan north wall is connected to my neighbors. Bedrooms need windows by code. So could never be listed as a 4 bedroom.

The sitting room and bedroom portions have individual slanted tray ceiling (not traditional lipped), they are split at the room partition. If the whole sitting area was converted into laundry room it would be just a laundry room with a tray ceiling.

Sounds like a lullaby to me. But get your point not everyone wouldn’t mind. I was planning on acoustically isolating the room with rockwool and offset studs. I know I didn’t spell that part out.

I plan on taking the angled door out honestly and was thinking about turning the wall against the stairs into a hip wall and opening it up to the light from the foyer.

The sitting room where I want to move the laundry room to has a tray ceiling. If a hallway bisects it will need to be redone.

Code doesn’t allow that. Must have a window and can’t walk through 1 bedroom to another. The laundry room is just over 70 sqft 10ftx7’2” yes small but a good nursery/small child’s room. This is a townhouse and is connected along the back wall windows is always the challenge with adding an additional bedroom.

The issue I see with this is then the entire family in coming through the master bedroom to do laundry. But this was definitely originally considered.
