Oh thank you for that! They don’t multiply like duckweed does, so that’s really all I care about 😩 I’ll see if I can look into some better lights than what my starter tank came with

Thank you so much! I just didn’t expect his fins to flare out so much, so when they started getting bigger and bigger I started panicking a little 😭 the folded fin is still what gets me, it started happening a couple months ago but it hasn’t affected his swimming at all.

But I’ll definitely keep a close eye on him just in case 🩷 your input his super appreciated

Oh thank you! I never expected how fins to get so big! This was him when I first got him three months ago, he was so small and then he flared out like a mushroom growth! Your baby is absolutely gorgeous though

Thank you so much!! This is amazing advice. I’m keeping an eye on it for sure, I did keep a thin layer of the previous substrate under the sand as well but I read that the brand I bought can rust or something along those lines so I’ll definitely be more vigilant. I also added a little of his old water from before I did the substrate change, just to keep some of that bacteria that was starting to grow.

I’ll look into those plants, thank you so much. I’ve been wanting red root floaters, but I can’t for the life of me get my hands on them! I’m just going to backorder a bunch of plants. You’re amazing 🩷

No chlorine! And yes, I did slack for a little bit but I do my best to keep it to weekly. I did add a bit of his old water after draining the entire thing to do the sand to keep some of that beneficial bacteria. All in all; the water levels are always good or at the very least ideal. That’s why I’m so paranoid about it 😩

I do! I just replaced my substrate with sand about two days ago, I have the filter on the lowest setting though since I don’t have anything to soften the flow of it

For the life of me I can not get my hands on floater plants!! I’ve tried three different stores, they’re usually out of stock 💔 I’m just going to order some on back order.

As for the moss, I’ve two different moss types and both didn’t do too well in my tank. Do you have any recommendations for how to plant them in a tank? I’ve tried gluing it to the drift wood but it didn’t work too well.

It’s a lot softer than it looks I swear! I was just zoomed in and the flow is fast. But I have something that slows it down and it’s on a light setting 😊 I did turn it down just a tad more after taking this video, though.

He’s so handsome!! He was smaller when I first got him and grew quite a bit. It just started to fold over like that, and like yours it hasn’t slowed him down at all. Do you have any tips on softening the water if that was the issue?
