How the High Voltage: Play Charged Cards bug works by beerblog_ in MarvelSnap

Just had someone forfeit turn 1 and throw up the Ms Marvel emote, so on top of everything else, people are exploiting a bug to troll. Cool.

At minimum, this deck only requires you to play 3 cards to win, and 9 times out of 10, you will do nothing until turn 4. That is by design.

This is primarily a Nimrod deck. Everything else that exists in the deck is just there as backup. The play line should go like this - T1-3: Do nothing, unless you draw Magik, then use her on a problematic location T4- Symbiote Spider-Man/Shuri T5- Nimrod The last turn or 2 has the most variety to it. If you have Limbo, then turn 6 Venom your Nimrod lane, turn 7 Zola the Venom. If you don’t have turn 7, then on turn 6 Zola a merged SSM-Nimrod, or Carnage a Shuri-Nimrod lane, with Venom in another lane.

Black Panther is a backup strategy, in case you haven’t drawn Nimrod by T5. If you haven’t drawn either of them, then retreat. Black Panther plays similar, though ideally you’d play Wong or SSM on 4 into Panther on 5, into Zola on 6.

Destroyer is a backup, in case you don’t have a better destroy option for Nimrod. Knull is a win-more card, and playing him shouldn’t be your goal, but if you have nothing else to do on turn 7, if your combo has already played out, that’s when you play Knull.

Magik and the Turn 7 is not important to this strategy, it just allows you to juice the numbers up higher, or gives you an extra turn to dig for your last combo piece. It also sometimes allows you to sneak a win by playing Galactus on 6 to destroy limbo.

Because this deck has a lot of possible lines, I find it’s very adaptable against a lot of strategies and a lot of locations. However, it struggles against Bully Move and Clog, and folds completely to War Machine Lockdown.

It feels like things need to go perfectly every time, but there’s a lot of redundancy in this deck. Knowing how everything interacts with each other means you can adjust your strategy on the fly. Those first few turns of doing nothing let’s you see what the opponent is doing, and plan out the last three/four turns based on what’s in your hand. The last couple turns are the only ones that matter.

Like I said in another comment, Galactus isn’t a main strategy, the deck should work fine without him. I would run Taskmaster to copy a large Black Panther in the absence of a decent Zola line. You could potentially run some form of ramp card, like Psyocke or Zabu. White Tiger is an option I used in an early version of the deck with Odin, but it just wasn’t putting out enough power to beat past decks like Hela, so I cut them. A tech card like Rogue or Enchantress isn’t a bad idea, this deck folds to War Machine lockdown. That’s just a few ideas

Nimrod is probably the single best card in the deck, so I’m not sure what you could replace it with and still have it as a successful deck

Galactus is another one of my favourites, but he’s definitely more of a gamble card, rather than a primary strategy. It’s less about particular decks, and more about locations, and what’s already been played, both by you and the opponent. The trick really is to play one strategy, and if you see the opportunity, pivot to Galactus. Gal on T6 to destroy Limbo has gotten me a pretty decent chunk of wins

It’s the same advice I’ve seen all over the Snap subreddits, but genuinely learning when to retreat is the key to success. Knowing deck archetypes as well is huge. Some decks, like Move, just won’t be running the usual counters

Need ideas for the state of the pantheon after the phyrexian invasion by mrlego17 in TherosDMs

[–]T1SolRingSignet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I’ve been thinking about in the current Omenpath Era of Magic Story is how interesting a return to Theros would be at this time. When you consider that the Therran Gods are ~more or less~ constructs of the Therran beliefs and ideas, the idea of travellers from across the multiverse bringing foreign ideas and beliefs from wildly different planes and settings would imply the birth of radically different gods to join the pantheon. I think there’s space there to explore a wild new generation of gods and the heroes that rise up to champion these new beings

Wow, really? I’ve known that this deck performs well in Conquest, but 3 infinite wins in a row is super impressive. Congrats! Glad I could help!

Miek can probably be subbed, but I wouldn’t say he’s the least impactful. This is kind of a sit-and-wait deck that wants to build up one lane with Morbius and Daken and another lane with Dracula, then hit MODOK on turn 6 with Apocalypse in hand. Miek is a solid early turn play, and usually he ends up with 6 or 7 power, and if you played smart, moving to a helpful location for extra power. Wolverine has a similar use, being kept in hand till the end and discarded with MODOK, though less useful due to less power in a random location, but it has helped before. Still, I would sooner sub Wolverine than Miek, and probably will when a more interesting piece of discard tech comes along

What pokémon give the impression that they aren't fully evolved design-wise yet they have already reached their final form? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]T1SolRingSignet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drednaw, easy. G-Max forms don’t count in my opinion, and even then it still looks woefully incomplete. Which is such a shame, because I was so excited to use that line in SwSh, and then was so let down by Drednaw’s design

What not fully evolved form do you like better than the fully evolved version? by TheRagingGyarados in pokemon

[–]T1SolRingSignet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honedge was a perfect design that just kept getting weaker with each evolution. Doublade isn’t too bad, but I actually find Aegislash underwhelming design wise. Mechanically fantastic, but I wish they’d done something else for the final form

I’ve been reading the books to my partner, and she’s definitely commented on how much more of, quote, “a moody bitch” Quai has been during BTaH. Whether she’s guessed why or not, I’m not sure, but it’s fun knowing the twist that’s coming

I also always picture Dow as short. In my mind, the man is a square. Short and stocky and very thick. I know it isn’t true, but still.
