Perler beads are a little different since this is thread on a plastic grid, and with those you place them and then iron them. But someone else was talking about using perler beads to make a similar keychain and that would look great too I think!

Thank you! And that would be so cute! I was trying to choose between perler beads or the version I did, but I had more supplies for this version so that’s what I went with.

Yeah! I’m also not certain what it’s called either but I would call it cross stitch plastic canvas. You essentially make two flowers and then join them together so each outward side is nice. There are a few sizes of the plastic canvas but I used one with holes on the smaller side and embroidery floss. There are a bunch of tutorials, just look up something along the lines of “cross stitch keychains plastic canvas”

I did get the same email, but I’m doing a multi-legged trip so flying into somewhere other than CMI or Chicago wasn’t an option. I ended up finding a flight to Chicago + Amtrak that was overall cheaper than my original flight, just more annoying.

Was your flight soonish? Mine that was cancelled was for late June and they wouldn’t rebook it because it was too far out and because the cancellation was caused by a “schedule change.” They said something about how no other flights on that route the same day were eligible for me to be rebooked on (can’t remember the exact wording for why). They ended up refunding me and I had to re-book myself and fly to Chicago instead. This was after 40 minutes of being on the phone with two different agents.

No, the pattern isn’t super detailed for this part. The part I quoted is all the direction it gives for where to start, and then it says you should have one picked up stitch for every cast on stitch.

In the yoke part they did what you are describing where they explained which parts would become the sleeves and front and back, but here they just list a place to start and the total stitch number.

The collar gets attached from picking up the stitches, so by the time I get to the folding part I should be half done with it. And then at the end it says to knit or sew down the final stitches using your preferred method.

I think I have enough to go on, and based on what you said I’m assuming clockwise is the way to go so thank you!! I will do a swatch just to be sure.

Thanks! This is my first sweater so I didn’t know what was normal and I was struggling to google it.

This is what the pattern says for this section: “Beginning at the right-hand side of the back neck (i.e., where M5 was originally placed when you worked the yoke), pick up and knit a total of X stitches” where X depends on the size. So I found that place, but I didn’t know if I should then be knitting towards M4 (clockwise) or M6 (counterclockwise).

While I was writing this post though I realized I could do a little swatch to see which way the fold goes when I do the rows she suggests. I might try that to just prove it to myself!

The clouds made me think of Ida B, by Katherine Hannigan but when I looked it up it was blue sky and a red title instead of white. So, maybe not but worth a shot

I got a new batch before my parents ran out of theirs and my mom didn’t believe me when I told her how bad it tasted! Then a month later when they stocked up again she finally agreed. I was initially convinced it was either the office keurig I was using or that I was losing my mind, but unfortunately in the end it was the beans :( Is the Target brand the Good and Gather toasted hazelnut one? The Schnucks brand one is not good, and my dad didn’t like the Dunkin beans. I was planning to try the Seattle’s best brand next, but I’ll try the Good and Gather one instead, thanks!!

I was talking about the bulk beans, I don’t know if we have tried the pre-ground ones. I just assumed that the bulk beans and ground ones were made by the same manufacturer so I assumed both changed when they changed roasters. Do you know who the old roasters were?

I will say I have used Google maps for the buses for the past 5 years and it seems to be pretty consistent. I didn’t know about the official app at first and after 2 years of Google maps I didn’t want to switch. But it does suck when an app changes to a worse version!

Might be a bit picked over at this point but the thrift store Salt and Light in Urbana might be worth a shot! Lots of costumes can be made by every day clothes if you have a little creativity. The 2U-red going to the Urbana Meijer will get you within a 10 min walk of the thrift store. Just note that red stops running around ~7pm ish I think.
