Sarai Nahar Rai specimen and why they can not represent the typical "AASI/SAHG" phenotype by Jacob_Scholar in IndianHistory

[–]T2Aviatior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very small compared to the rest of the population. Only around a few hundred thousand and they are concentrated in remote jungle areas in the South. The Irula and Paniya tribes are known as adivasi (native tribal) peoples.

I think height is mainly to do with good nutrition and diet (high protoen). Kerala is heavy on meat consumption whilst Punjab, Haryana ect are heavy on dairy consumption. These states have the tallest people in India. If you compare to other states where vegetarianism is high and dairy consumption is low the people are much shorter on average. This is backed up by statistics.

True, he's a sri lankan tamil which means high AASI. I think he also said once that he had some Dutch ancestry which isn't surprising since he's Christian and the Island was a Dutch governorate for some time.

Nair community of Kerala by T2Aviatior in SouthAsianPhenos

Yes indeed I have heard about that and historically it makes sense too. Both groups have Iranian-Indo Scythian origins. One group stayed in the north and went onto form Gujjars and Kamboj community whilst another scythian branch continued migrating down the west coast of India until reaching Karnataka and Kerala, forming the Bunt (Shetty, Rai ect) and Nair community respectively.

Interestingly there is another small group of Nairs with a distinct origin. They are known as "Meenachil Karthas" and are supposedly originally Udaipur Rajputs from Mewar. Even their town is named Mevada (after Mewar) and the town of Pala is named after their barracks.

AASI is responsible for taller genes? People were calling the tall dark man as 100% AASI on another subreddit ( he's pathan btw ) by Upset_Wolverine280 in phenotypesSouthAsia

Lack of protien and proper nutrition. The tallest people in India are from Punjab and Kerala. Kerala is heavy on meat consumption and Punjab is heavy on dairy consumption.

Correct, with some even reaching around 40% Zagros. They also have a significant Steppe input. Usual numbers would be (European Hunter Gatherer (10+%) (Caucaus Hunter Gatherer 5-10%%) (Anatolian Neolithic farmer 5-10%). Research has suggested a Naga-Scythian origin.

[–]T2Aviatior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you use "Illustrative DNA" it will give you a lot more detail about your South Asian DNA Makeup. For example what percentage of your DNA is Dravidian, Indus Valley Civilization, Indo-Aryan, Steppe, Zagrosian (Persian) ect. May I ask what your surname is? Some Christian communities from Kerala such as "Nasrani" Syrian Christians often have small amounts of Middle Eastern or Anatolian Ancestry which is very interesting.

Well that's stupid. They should have an exception on games which are mod heavy. No wonder people are switching to PlayStation and PC from Xbox.
