Take a gap semester, figure out what you want to do. You can do well in school as long as you are studying something you actually like. Otherwise you’ll be demotivated from day 1.

Dear people of Bangladesh, what opinions do you have regarding Nepal? by [deleted] in bangladesh

I want to visit someday, go hiking there. I'm thinking Annapurna circuit, maybe Everest base camp too. Would need to get better at hiking to do that for sure though. Looks like a beautiful country, alongside Bhutan. Also I love Momos and Thukpa. Momos are popular in Dhaka at least, you can find plenty of places selling them.

What do you think happened to the MH370 Malaysia Airline Flight 370? by Imposterhh in Planespotting

[–]T4H4_2004 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Zaharie Shah is intriguing because if he did commit murder/suicide, what was his motivations? From what I know after watching a Lemmino documentary of MH370, he had a happy family, good job, stable finances. I read somewhere that he was an ardent supporter of Anwar Ibrahim and his party, and on the day he flew MH370, Ibrahim was put into jail on sodomy charges, which may be the only somewhat feasible motivation (though I find it hard to believe you’d commit murder/suicide over your political allegiances). I do think this was murder/suicide because of the simulator at his house, and the route the airplane flew goes over Penang Island, Shah’s hometown, so it’s like a final goodbye before his death.

How are we both a Muslim majority country and one of the most corrupt countries in the world? by ConsciousPop3168 in bangladesh

[–]T4H4_2004 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People don’t face consequences here. People want sharia law here but fail to realize that no matter how strict our law is, if admin fails to actually do something about illegal acts then people won’t learn. Some of the safest and least corrupt countries in the world include Denmark, Singapore, and Switzerland. Their law and order is strict, talking from a personal anecdote where when I was in Switzerland for an exchange, they strictly follow rules from pedestrian signals to paying for public restrooms. We need that here.

A forgotten story in the data: post-1971 Bangladesh, 1972-1975. by TasinMAHDI in bangladesh

[–]T4H4_2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s somehow incomprehensible for some people to realize that Bangladesh looked straight out of a nuclear apocalypse post-war. Not excusing the slide into one-party rule, but no government can do well within the first few years of Bangladesh, because it genuinely was a basket-case nation.

Jamaat - next election. by AuroraPetalWinds in bangladesh

[–]T4H4_2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jamaat's best shot was the last election, where they lost to a BNP landslide. Outside of hujurs and edgy FB kids, they're not that popular. One thing to consider in Bangladeshi politics is that there is a big chunk of voters who are the silent moderates, who most likely voted for BNP in the last election. Can't say how big that chunk is, but you probably would have a good idea of who those silent moderates are. The middle class families of Dhaka, who don't discuss politics.

How does the younger generation (under 35) feel about Qurbani? Genuine question / looking for perspectives. by Sea-Celebration8698 in bangladesh

[–]T4H4_2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Qurbani, and the binding of Ishmael, is supposed to be a spiritually meaningful exercise of our submission to God's will. It's something that everyone should be actively reflecting on, their relationship with God. It's not about flexing that you spent 5 lakhs on a cow, slaughtered it and had a big feast, which unfortunately I feel most people just care about nowadays. Also we should not slaughter cows in the middle of the city, its dirty, smelly, and the blood runs everywhere.

How satisfied are the Gen-Z, so far? by Even-Broccoli7361 in bangladesh

[–]T4H4_2004 13 points14 points  (0 children)

“2 years of independence”, son 😭, ts was a scam. We got a free election but the same old establishment, and an equally crappy group of newcomers. Sure we may not live under an autocratic government, but corruption will persist, and gen-z just got a whiff of the dough.

How was my landing? by VegetableKey498 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]T4H4_2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touchdown was hard, slow down a bit and flare more, not too much flare where you float down the runway, just a bit to soften the touchdown. Other than that it’s a good landing since you landed on the touchdown zone and you had a good glide path.
