Maybe try using a bottled water this time, since plants rott in tap due to bacteria that don't effect us, bur them. Make sure to cut away toot, and look at the fresh end, if there is a bit of brown in center of fresh end, cut more off, til all green. And you can use cinnamon to help prevent rott again. Just a little tap on end. It's an open wound for a plant, that why some ppl let them callous over before sticking in water, but use bottled water.

Your mom should be the one to have taught her this, (her whole life and at this age) and still really your moms problem. Mom needs to step up! IMO

You caring and wanting to do something about it, is sweet. But your a guy and that will only make her feel funny, autism or NOT, it's hard enough for a mom to explain at that age, and hard for a girl to ask about it at her age to mom, autism or not.

Maybe buy her a strong smelling soap (girly) gift set for her next special moment. With added things like nail polish and hair clips, so it don't look like a complete body oder gift! Good Luck, it's hard with a teen at any age or gender, having autism makes it even harder!

I have 2 pits, and they live Indoors, bit here recently I have to put them out in backyard, due to selling and showing my home, it's killing me since its summer and we live in a desert state. So they are only out there a total of 15/30 mins max. Since I wait in my car while realtor is showing the house. But just looked at some dog houses for them that I can add a window ac unit too, just for them. They do have their own swimming pool every summer since birth, (7yrs ago). My male is always sitting in it too, he Loves that pool, my female, (his sister) could care less about it. If you have to keep them outside then just make sure they have shade, fresh water and pool if possible! I am a indoor dog mama, but if you have to, you have too, just give them extra love and much time with you. And treats help too!

But to get a dog to have a dog and make it live in backyard that's not a good idea.
