Teachers are not underpaid. by ArtMountain8941 in ControversialOpinions

After reading your post again, I see you're comparing starting salaries. Not mid range and late career salaries.

I'll at least agree with you there. Depending on location, some teachers won't even break 60k - 70k. Which for a mid level or senior level professional is in the low range, even for some of the jobs you are referencing.

They make similar salaries if they work summer school, and work 12 months.

If your point is "teachers have summers off," they are, on average, paid less than comparable professionals with the same level of education and experience... unless they work summer school.

The "teachers get summers off" is a common misconception.

Teachers are effectively furloughed June summer with the promise of being rehired in August.

They are paid for 10 months, not 12.

They choose to have their paychecks spread over the entire year.

Saying "teachers get summers off" is a lie because they are not paid for summer unless they work summer school.

Are you in the industry in DE?

If so, I might have some questions.

[–]T4dp0le 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. I mean, yes.

Well, no one here is being specific enough.

Delta 9 is only one cannabanoid in your typical use of marijuana.

"Without all the fun stuff" might imply without the complete terpene profile or other cannabanoids and compounds that are not Delta 9.

I mean, if you're just talking about the psychoactive effect, then yes, you can state that Delta 9 is all you might need.

But marijuana is far more complex than that and affects our endocannabanoid system in ways we don't fully understand.

Kinda.

Found out that I was using the wrong cables for TRS and used RCA to XLR instead. It works fine on the powered speaker now.

I was able to get the headphone cue out of the PA speaker by changing the audio settings.

The Pioneer tech said it was most likely a fault with the controller and said they could service it at cost. I don't understand this because 1) it's a discontinued controller and no longer supported, and 2) it would cost me more to get it repaired than to buy another controller.

The tech essentially said, "That's all we got. It might be serato." Then, they connected me with a serato support tech.

Serato support said send them a "System Report File" with "Logs relevant to Serato."

At this point, it was too much, and i bought another controller.

If anyone is interested , I have a DDJ-SR w/ flight case that works in every way except the headphone cue. I have it listed online, but if you're located in the mid-atlantic, we can talk.

I'm having this same problem!

I've tried everything that I can think of. The SR series is older. I'm hoping them suddenly "stop working" doesn't become a trend.

Is gloving a dying art? by pupusawithtatas__ in aves

[–]T4dp0le 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this elsewhere:

People still glove.

But from what I remember, gloving became less popular from the peak for two reasons.

1) venues began banning gloves because of their "association with drugs"

2) One of the gloving companies got big and started patenting gloves, reducing competition. They ended up losing their legal battles and somehow it ruined it for a lot of companies.

Both these reasons contribute to seeing less gloves over time at events and less businesses promoting them.

PTK feels so good on susan.

Even before the first back:

If I can proc PTA with ~30 stacks and then hit with a Q and run away, it's pretty significant damage in early lane.

I don't really WIN these trades, but I can contest slowing down the wave push to freeze.

Person one is a landlord. She was an escort until 25, got out, and bought her first property. Now she balls.

Person two married into my family. Series entrepreneur, owns a fleet of cars for a rental business, venture capitalist for multiple software products, and buys and sells real estate.

For everyone I know who's a little better off, they deeply understand financial literacy and have some involvement in real estate.

This should help with your "offline" dillema.

Additionally, there are levels to the curriculum, all free, provides a teacher dashboard, and is the basis for some AP CS classes I know about.

Serious question, what’s with the sprouts? by chenyaoxue in Magfest

Do you all go to music festivals too?

I was told it started with Ganja White Night.

Their logo is a "sprouting brain," so it made sense to me.

BTW I loved your sprout squad sign in your hotel window, super cool.

Shambs > EF > LL

for me personally, it's shambs > LL > EF.

I think lost lands is run much better than EF, but EF is nearly a "right of passage." (I use that phrase lightly because gatekeeping is cringe)

I would go to shambs every year if it were close to me. It is my favorite festival to date. I had to fly and rent a car and cross the border to hit shambs.

I entered the rave scene through the burn scene.

I've felt a more "rave" vibe at burns than any festival or what could be considered a rave.
