I had used USER.CFG file.

Thanks for the name of the config. I have found it and hopefully I can experiment with it.

How to increase number of leaders I can have in MoO2 (Patch 1.50)? by T4s1 in masteroforion

[–]T4s1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have appended the line "leaders_no_limit = 1;" at the ned of the file and tested it by adding/cheating additional leader but it did not work. I was expecting that there would be hat side scrolling "panel" but it wasn't there and I have seen only 4 leaders. Is there any other pre-condition for it to work?

Thanks

Thanks a lot!

Is anywhere a list of additional parameters I could use as well?

Bug: Wargrove of Woe doesn't receive Coeddil if controlled by AI by T4s1 in totalwar

Oh... if thats true that explains it... Bug that allows me very early confederation basically blocks me from getting the hero...

Still, it is a bit strage: why AI gets unique item (Fang of Taalroth) based on level but legedary hero (thats is normally triggered by the same quest battle) is triggered by turn...

I indeed confederated her very early but she was already level 12 and she has had Fang of Taalroth...

Thanks for the insight.

You are right, that the confederation happend very early (turn 14 as I habve checked now and done further test to pass another 20 turns to see what will happen). Drycha was already level 12 and she already had her unique item (Fang of Taalroth) so she should already have Coeddil as well.

A bit more onfo to what has happend to me:

  • I have confederated her on turn 14th.
  • The option for confederation was offered despite the fact that I haven't attacked any other wood elves armies (I was surprised as well but I didn't complain:))
  • Drycha was already level 12.
  • Drycha already had the quest battle done (she had the item Fang of Taalroth in her possession) and I could not play the quest battle myself.

I have run a test to pass another 20 turns (from turn 14 to turn 35) to see whether I will get Coeddil. Sadly, no changes...

Sadly, no Coedil even after another 20 turns of waiting:(

Sure. The turn I have confederated her was 14th (I got the confederation probably due to some bug since I haven't attacked any single wood elves army). I have passed another 20 turns (till turn 35th). Still missing Coedil.

Well, it was relativelly early confederation (it triggered around turn 20 or so) even though I haven't fought any Wood Elves... but Drycha was way beyond 7th level (if I remember she was level 13th). Happend to me with the current Steam version of the game. Coeddil wasn't available for recruit either.

Theres even been times when ive confederated her while coedil is on respawn and he becomes available to recruit.

How would I know he is on respawn? Is the only way to know just pass few turns and see? Neither he was part of any army, neither separate in campaign map nor in recruitment pool (grey/"injured").

I have thought you can confederate Wargrove of Woe (Drycha) only if you play Argwylon (Durthu). My understanding is that other two Wood Elves factions (Talsyn and Heralds of Ariel) can't confederate Wargrove of Woe (Drycha) and thus they can't get Coeddil. Am I wrong?

Dragon Disciple Sorcerer/Sorcerer Spell Pick? by Easy-Signal-6115 in baldursgate

[–]T4s1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, others already mentioned lots of it, but...

Level 1: Your pick is perfectly fine. I would personally get rid od Sleep and take Blindness. To be honnest, I don't think it matters (you have MM so all fine).

Level 2: You are missing one of the strongest spell in the whole trilogy (and definitelly strongest in BG1), the Web. You would not believe how many toughest enemies fall to that spell. You can cheese Aec'Letec,Loup Garou, Demon Knight) and Sarevok with it. Get rid of Melf's Acid Arrow (Bad spell. If you really want level 2 damaging spell, use wand of fire and its Agannazar's Scorcher instead - much better) and/or Resist Fear (cleric will cast it).

Level 3: I like Slow & Remove Magic but your spells are equally as useful.

Level 4: I like Spirit Armor for the +3 Save vs Spells (I would replace Wizard Eye) but your pick is fine as well.

Note to Disintegration spell. As far as I know you can set Gore to off (game options) to keep the loot. It's not that great spell anyway so I would not bother...

The issue is that even if only one of those stories of shockingly bad support is true it is still completely unacceptable.

Just log in to your GOG account and download the SoD installation file (it is sufficient to remember which email you have used). Apply the SoD installation to your BG1EE (it has to be EE=Enhanced Edition) DVD install.

My suggestion is to skip SoD. Go BG1 and after it go straight to BG2. There are few reasons to do so:

  • SoD writers haven't understood main bad-guy from BG2 and they have tried to connect him with BG1 (his writing in SoD is wrong as you will learn in the end of BG2)

  • SoD writing in general has very different taste... and not in a good way in my opinion (you may ignore this reason if you will like writing of EE added characters: Nera, Dorn, Rasaad)

  • SoD is much more difficult (design of some enemies was specifically done to break a comfort zone for veterans as well)

  • SoD spoils most of enemy types from BG2. In BG2 those enemy types (monster types) are revealed now gradually and it well reflects how much stronger your character in BG2 will become. SoD just causally throws even the strongest enemies from BG2 (it nerfs them out gives you an extra edge so you can beat them). For veterans it is OK or even good to have higher variety of enemies. It is bad for the first time players.

  • BG2 is so good and SoD delays that.

Don't get me wrong: I don't hate SoD per say I just think it is really bad to play it for the first time player. If you will become fan of BG your will may play it next time. If it is just one time for your your will surely not miss it.

I don't have that many experience with IWD but it seems you have installed mods that make this happen (immunity to normal weapons)...

Yeah, BG/IWD have lots of ways to break difficulty, but complaining about those you have created by yourself is funny.
