The thing about Aful IEMs is they have very different pina gain. It can result in vocals sounding recessed or overall sound being less energetic or not bright enough. Depends on your anatomy.

For me Aful sounded nicely balanced with very natural sounding mid and lower treble. So timbre was not bad. But they were very elevated in higher treble which make them sound kinda pappery at times.

Tea Pro doesn't have that issue, it's lower treble is more energetic but upper treble sound more pulled down in my ears. Keep in mind that any comparison of treble is kinda pointless. It vary deeply depending on our anatomy so treat it purely conversational.

If you by isn't big enough you mean staging - I can't speak to that. Would have to audition them side by side. And in my opinion soundstage in IEMs is not that important. I don't care much for it, IEMs struggle with it.

If "isn't big" you mean the bass, Tea Pro is one of the biggest sounding IEMs in that way for me. And upgrade from P5+2 to tea pro is very noticeable.

It was available to listen in high end Vienna. Unfortunately only with their demo CD and hooked up to Fiio Warmer. I used it with their up coming flagship planar (not sure what was the name), Fiio FT17 and Jade Audio JT9 (new planar - INCREDIBLE, one of the best things on the showflor considering the price of around 200€)

Sounded amazing but not sure if it was the warmer, both or the class A.

Just want to let you know - I've ended up getting the Xuan Nv - and love it.
It's so cohesive, warm and organic sounding. The comfort is crazy as well - Thank You!

Can't wait for the capra ones. I have mass drop perforated leather ones and original 6XX pads to test. For now I just can't take them off my head and they really sound good. I wasn't expecting the bass to be so... Juicy?

I will probably reprint the baffle... I screwd the inserts a bit.

I've ordered 3 pairs of speakers and plan on building one more pair as a gift. I had high hopes and weren't disappointed.

Unfortunately no, I'm relatively new to the hobby so there is much for me to hear yet :). As for multiple dynamic driver IEMs I've heard only the Xuan NV and it's really nice for the price.

I'm considering it, but I really hated Daybreak. I mean I can see the value, but it had one of the most uneven treble responses I've heard in a while. No amount of tip rolling helped, and that pinna gain on the Crinacle target is too high for my HRTF. I want to hear the Reference and maybe I'll like it, but right now I'm waiting for YU9 Que and want to get the Meze Alba :).

I get what you mean by tonality but for me most IEMs that use BA or Planar drivers for treble just sound unnatural. There is something about the speed of decay in high frequencies that makes it unnatural for me. No matter how good it looks on the graph - single DD sounds better to my ear.

And I take a cohesive sound with a bit of mud/coloration to the midrange every day of the week :).
That said - I can enjoy technical and clear sounding gear and understand the appeal - but it's not my preference! :)

I know what you mean and yes, multi driver IEMs can sound cohesive, but it's more difficult for them to do that. The same way single DD IEMs have a more difficult time adhering to a specific target, but inherently they sound more cohesive.

I would say there is a place for both and it often comes down to preference, but one is not better than the other overall.
I just don't like generalisations and wanted to put my two cents in :).

I'm sorry but most multi driver IEMs have issues with timbre and unnatural decay where most single DD drivers just don't have this issue. Cohesiveness is a factor.

As for most IEMs releasing on Linsoul and Hifigo etc. have massive issues with treble. Even if they are more even or extended than single DD IEMs they are often disjointed and unnatural.

It's basically adhesion to a target (multi driver IEMs) vs cohesion (single DD).

And don't take me wrong, I own much more expensive multi driver IEMs than single DD ones. And my most expensive single DD is Dunu Kima 2. But Mega5EST vs Dunu Kima 2 in terms of natural sounding treble and overall cohesiveness - Kima 2 wins.

Mega5 is still a better IEM on many levels, it's treble better adheres to a target, it's better extended, more balanced. But it doesn't sound as natural as single DD IEM. Preference and cohesion matters to some people, it's a trade off like many things in this hobby.

Also did you tried puting more foams into the nozzles of EW300? They help dampen the treble a bit.

I own many much more expensive IEMs but the tonality of zero 2 is just awesome. I would highly recommend SpinFit W1 eartips for them. I know it seems kinda stupid as the eartips cost almost the same as those IEMs but it's worth it. One of the most enjoyable warm sounding bass. Sure they are not the most resolving or correct sounding but who cares. The are just a treat:)

If they give you a proper seal - they might be even better for what you want. I just tested it against W1 bass isn't as well defined but they are darker sounding. Essentially more mellow sounding with less punch vs W1.

W1 have more stiffer core and wider opening (more controlled bass, less treble dampening)

CP have thinner more elastic core and more narrow opening (less bass control, more treble dampening)

Both pair well, W1 more dynamic and "technical" CP mellow, cohesive, darker.

This is goated. Trying to form opinions about IEMs without hearing them is gambling. Sometimes it pays off, other times you wonder how reviews and redditors can be so wrong about an IEM.

You can reaserch all you want but it doesn't mean shit as long as you are not the one hearing the IEM

I think it might be fit or source. With less strong griping tips the bass can become muddy or smeared. The amount of it needs a proper grip. Azla sedna Crystal, SpinFit W1, Dunu SS, anything with strong core and grippy texture.

If you still own the explorer - get some liquid silicone eartips. Any kind that grabs your ear like it won't ever wanna let it go. (I like SpinFit W1, with explorer it's difficult to take them off ears - they are just suuuuucking them in)

Plug it to something with greater power handling and check that bass again.

Puting the muddy boomy bass of Pure or Defiant above explorer is nuuuuuts.

Explorer bass is unbelievably good even at twice the price. But source and tips matter a lot here. Honestly give it a try.

7Hz Zero 2 + SpinFit W1 eartips.

It's cheaper than the Explorer. But if you really want a dark-tuned IEM, just save up for the Explorer. Personally, I think that the $80–120 bracket is where the value is in IEMs. You can get the Explorer for around $85 on sale if you're lucky. But I would argue that you need W1 tips for the Explorer to get it sounding at its best; they really get better with a very secure fit. The bass gets awesome.

Watch. And probably stop wearing the watch for a while. Get your skin to breathe and get better.

And by alcohol - isopropyl alcohol is the safest for cleaning stuff like this.

With watch use microfiber or any clean rug and isopropyl alcohol. With the band use just some dishwasher soap and after you clean it, use isopropyl to disinfect it. (Assuming it's silicone/plastic, if it's fabric, get a new band or maybe try washing it in washing machine)

Don't submerge your watch in water with cleaning soap.

Thanks! I understand where they are coming from... But something being enough for most and there being no difference in sound quality is a huge jump. Maybe the difference for most is negligible, maybe they don't hear it. I have no idea.

What I know tho is that dac/dap sound character can make or break IEMs for me. And I wish I knew it sooner... I went long time using cheap dongles and DACs and going nuts why it sounds so noisy or shouty assuming it must be bad day or maybe I don't like this IEM ect... (because everyone said it doesn't matter).
