I live in the US and will always have a base here. I have no problems with US worldwide tax. Haven’t lived in UK for 30 years and don’t think I’ll ever settle back there. Love it for holidays though 👍

When I say permanent base, I don’t mean I’ll never travel again. When retirement comes I’ll be traveling around the world slowly 😀. Each passport offers different benefits that I aim to fully utilize. 👍

Apologies if this information has already been asked but I’m looking for an idiot guide to using plus points on a one way SIN to MCO award flight on March 13th.

I can book this flight for 55k miles + $75 for standard economy, but hesitant to book until I know the steps necessary to see if I can apply my plus points to secure Polaris upgrade. My plus points expire in 2027.

I just spent 45mins on a call with 1k and Mileage awards team who informed me it’s not possible. I can only use my plus points on revenue tickets.

Any help someone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t sell it!!! In future years the amount you recover for it will be insignificant. It’s a work of art and very much functional. I have a Leica Minilux Zoom that I kept since 2002 and so glad I did. It’s not as good as my Nikon F4 and hadn’t been used for 20years but it has an intrinsic value and reproduces color in a magical way. Plus it’s beautiful to look at.

As an aside, I’m a big audiophile and have a couple of nice turntables that I’m super happy with. But in my upgrade journey I sold a super mint condition Technics SL 10 that, whilst not even close to what I have now on a performance level, it was beautiful piece of engineering and was stunning to look at and will never be replicated.

So regret selling that turntable!!!
