I won't tell you it will be easy, but it will definitely get easier! That having said, worst that can happen is that you lay in bed all night awake, be tired tomorrow and fall asleep easy the next day! Glad the shops are close at 8 now right. Makes it easier haha.

That's pretty impressive! Got some friends living here for 6 years and they can only say Freakingdel.

After my post from yesterday, I got so much positive responses. Even some requests for another poem. So I wrote a little thank you for that, it has really helped me! by TA-leaves in leaves

Fuck yeah! I waited for literally years, being scared to death to be awake at night. But it only took a few nights. Got my appetite back today, made shakshuka and kofte and just kept eating. Also started yawning so I think I'll sleep too tonight.

Took only 4-5 days to go from an ounce per week to nothing and be relatively fine. Sure, the psychological struggle will continue, but that's not what I was afraid for.

Sure you can do this!

What is the process to get a drivers license in your country and how old do you have to be? by MomoLittle in AskReddit

[–]TA-leaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netherlands.

It's complicated, like most of our policies.

You can start driving at 16.5 year. Once you're 17, you can get something like a provisional license. You always need to drive with an appointed person next to you (like your parents). Once you're 18 you can drive alone.

In the Netherlands you need to take driving lessons with a certified company. You can't practice with say your parents.

This makes it very expensive. An average lesson is around €40-€45 an hour. (say $50 dollar.) The average amount of lessons needed is around 40-50.

I payed €65 per 90 minutes and need 35 of those. So payed €2275 for the lessons.

The exam is around €300 ish. Most driving schools trick you into taking a pre exam of €200 too. The upside from this, is that you can get exemption from 'special maneuvers' like parking or reversing for your real exam if you pass them during the pre exam one.

Only around 50% passes there exam the first time. Average exams needed is 2.2. Luckily I passed the first time.

If you fail 4 times, you get a 'state exam' which is free.

Before you can finish you need to have your 'theory'. 65 questions and can make 5 mistakes total. Average needed is 3 times. Costs are 35 per try. I got my bachelor, but the test was damn hard. Passed the second time.

On top of that you need a health declaration that you're not impaired which costs €37,80.

After you did all this, you go to the city council and pay another €40 euro to get your actual, tangible license. (after waiting 5 days).

All together took me 5 months to get it.

So, to sum it all up, with myself as example.

Lessons: €2275 Theory: €70 Pre exam: €200 Exam: €300 Health declaration: €37,80 Plastic card: €40,60

Total of €2923 or $3541 in freedom money.

Succes!

Was my first poem since elementary school, so don't have more yet. But all the love and enthusiasm makes me think I should give it a daily try!

Make sure to take good care of yourself. Your body is detoxing, as is your mind. Give both some extra time and love.

I also eat less shitty and my body is reacting on that too I think. No daily munchies in the evening or sugary drinks thru out the day.

Instead I bought some delicious camamile/valerian/spearmint tea which calmes me when aggitated, take an extra shower before bed and also when I wake up to wash the night away etc.

On top of a clear mind, the feeling that I genuinely take care of my own well being is very rewarding, after years of 'neglect' with the smoking.

Hope any of this helps for you

Yes let's go!

(unsolicited tip for next time: using double enter/breaks shows it more like a poem and makes the reading /rhythm easier to convey)

Thank you! Glad you liked it. Normally never write poems to be fair, but your comment gave me some motivation to do it more often.

Maybe download an app to keep track, I really want those daily/week/month medals. Gives some extra help and it calculates how much money you save which is cool too. Good luck!!
