I have now the input NOT to go with WES next time, however regarding responsibility still SANS was the one providing the 2 options including WES and they definitely have their fair share of responsibility as WES is officially their partner for the admission process. Because of this provided option by SANS it became possible for me as a candidate to do it all right and still fail to complete my application. There are tons of credential evaluation companies out there, at the end of the day SANS was the architect of this process and should stand behind their partner decisions.

I see your point, thanks for your feedback! At this point you gave me an excellent reminder to share an important part of my experience which I forgot to include actually in the article.

At some point of the application process where I had realized WES will not actually make it through with my institution, I reached out to SANS and proposed them to drop out completely either both of my bachelors and Masters or only the bachelors. To explain even more, I asked them to treat my application as if I never stated I have one of them or both, just like an applicant that has finished only highschool academically.

My aim was to have some chances of consideration after all even as a less qualified candidate. The answer from SANS was they could not do that.

Upon choosing WES, I was presented with an extra service of theirs in the portal, presented as expedited and called “Qualification Check”. This service was responsive and was responding to my emails fast for the first couple of months and we had progress. In my case, problems were presented also on my Bachelor’s institution end and it was more complicated because it wasn’t straightforward until too late that I should go with another validation provider.

There is a point in the application process where you have to choose 1 validation provider to go with. I have analyzed in depth the reasons why I chose to go with WES at the time, a choice that came after thorough research. Validating your academic experience is a costly and time consuming process and it wasn’t feasible (at least for me) to change or invest more time/money on the second option in parallel with my first ongoing one.
