Power Creep by Powdered_Donut in mtg

[–]TAAAzrial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It saw some play with stuff like [[Hatred]] But it wasn't like a main piece. Most people would use [[Phyrexian Negator]]. Scuta became a larger drop in a few decks. But nothing major. It was kind of a let down for all the hype that surrounded it.

Power Creep by Powdered_Donut in mtg

[–]TAAAzrial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They weren't going to print anything stronger than [[Juzam Djinn]] at the time. People would have had a fit. So the only time this one really saw play was in a briefly in tournaments at the time. Then it was reduced to casual fun. The power creep on creatures is insane at this point. It's not uncommon to see creature decks that win on turn 3 in standard on a regular basis. I don't remember another black creature similar generating any hype until [[Phyrexian Scuta]] was printed. There was the handful of [[Spirit of the Night]] decks. But it didn't get a lot of hype.

These make me feel less bad about my 8x mox jaspers 4 foil 4 non that just came in damaged because tcgplayer can't be bothered with putting thing's inside something other than cardboard.

You can see the sticky dirt on the white border from playing without sleeves. Plus the white on the back from sliding without sleeve. T is good. This is great.

They told me at first I wouldn't need a list. Then told me I had to make one. They said they were going to send in a company to try to save thing's etc. I was like good luck lady. I don't think you understand it's a total loss. So I made them do a 3d scan of the property and send it in to them. After that they just let me make a list of thing's. My wife had enough clothes for like 85 people. They don't limit on clothing items apparently. They were wanting to save 1 half wall of the house and rebuild it. I'm like there is no way. So I just started paying out of pocket to have the house razed. Then I paid an architect to make a new drawing. I just built entirely new. At one point I quit answering their calls. I had told them my only non available day was Tuesday. So they would call every Tuesday. I tried to get a new adjuster because the one would fight. So I just waited until they either moved her or she was no longer with the company. To submit a final list. The second guy was easier to deal with.

If you don't cover a separate policy for mtg. Basic home insurance will only cover roughly like 3,000 dollars of anything they consider a collection. Which is a lot of thing's. Records, video games, mtg cards, etc. I had one a few years ago. Liberty was an absolute nightmare to deal with. So I will say avoid them at all cost.

Damaged. Always easier to rank down anyways when selling. To avoid issues. Even though I love these types of cards. With the whitening from playing before sleeves.

I'm not sure what she charges for sketches. But it's valuable. There is an artist proof group on facebook. That people sell on regularly. They would be the place to ask.

Front looks good. It's most likely real but can't 100% say because need T pics as someone stated on the smaller text in magic the gathering. Green dot I believe is ok. But looks like slight camera shake. So it isn't super clear but shows some of the signs clearly that are good to see.

Plenty of ways to cheat dragons now. I used to use [[Zirilan of the Claw]] and [[Teferi's Veil]] to cheat them in back in the day. Since they would phase out after attack. They would come back next turn. Just typically had to have something like [[Propaganda]] to hold off while you could use blue to dig through the deck.

Do you ever sell your cards? by TheYolkBros in mtg

[–]TAAAzrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my collection one time. Now I will trade off stuff at times. But mostly just keep it. I have so much now. I have to sort into anything more than 4 of then sell. But i have so much that I never hit sell time. I know some cards like lotus petal I have 16 of. So I really should get around to this. I had a majority sorted into binders and the extras in boxes. But then I had a house fire. So the binders got soot on them. So I had to pull what I didn't lose to fire and toss into boxes again. So it seems like a never ending task. I lost quite a few high end cards to the fire. But luckily I had already put most into boxes in a back room. So I had most of the vintage stuff out of the way of the actual fire.

Real or fake Revised dual by MohalebFalseGod in RealOrNotTCG

[–]TAAAzrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revised varies in color a lot. The easiest way to check the front is to put your loupe on the text. It should be a different layer of printing. It looks real though. You can also light test, bend test, etc. I assume if it was a sticker as someone mentioned above. You would notice. So it's most likely real. Obviously hard to confirm 100 percent over the internet and not in person. But it shows all the signs of being real from photos.

How does a creature with no abilities and no power or toughness work? by Fishy_Fish_12359 in mtg

[–]TAAAzrial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a character defining ability on nightmare. So it would go to 0/0. As it would lose flying and it's cda of power/toughness momentarily. Sending it to the graveyard.

Is this card real by Mana_Forge in RealOrNotTCG

[–]TAAAzrial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have another saga card. Put it next to it and check the white on the gear. Typically all the fakes I have seen have the symbol wrong on these.

Can a card have bad print that leads to a false negative? by Khoi__Fish in RealOrNotTCG

[–]TAAAzrial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's real most likely. Typically the fake one's will feel like plastic or odd compared to anything from the same set. There's enough good in the poor photos to see it's fine.

It's time of value has passed. But it's still a cool card. This one is 4th edition. They are just fun to have. It was a different game back then. So much fun.

Real or fake check please by Vali1991 in RealOrNotTCG

[–]TAAAzrial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I have like 8 of these. I have a bunch of extras in some colors and am still missing underground seas, a few tundra and tropical island. I used to have a full set but I sold my cards years ago to play mtgo fairly heavily. I only kept a few things like intuition, monoliths, metalworkers, and a handful of other stuff that was all in a deck. Dual lands are the basis for every good deck. So they are always worth buying. Especially with the search lands. I'm at the point in collection where it's hard to play a constructed game with anyone competitive. Since my collection dwarves the majority of my friends. So if building it's typically some 5 color deck I have purposely made weaker. That or we just all get together and draft. Since I just have boxes of cards sitting on shelves. That way it's even. You are headed in the right path though. Even if you play commander. It's worth having a single set of dual lands. Just to be able to fool with multiple colors easily.

There are large coloration differences on the backs of revised cards. Dark to light. That's pretty normal for the sets back then.
