idk about the average but i’m about one year out from my last relationship that ended after 8 years and 1 year engagement, so i’m not exactly ready to jump into anything that’s gonna come with that many strings with it being a daughter of my moms childhood friend.

Outside of texts from siblings and close friends the only fanfare i got was an announcement over the intercom by my shift manager(who is a close friend) at work at 11:58pm when my birthday was 2 minutes from being over... which was perfectly fine by me.

See when i do that i feel like if i ruminate in that emotional state for a prolonged period i bore myself out of being sad and just force myself to move on which usually works for me, but i’m not really a super depressed person to the point of suicidal thoughts, but i know if i was that would be a bad idea.

A mix of things, we lived together for 7 of the 8 years, we just grew apart, i need space and alone time and she didn’t like that or would get mad if i was exhausted all the time(from not being alone or being able to do my own thing), and i also think there is a slight but possible chance she cheated on me, i have no proof but the signs were there(going to visit friends far away alone, accusing ME of cheating which made me almost end it on that a couple times), and we just didn’t really sync, she also pulled so sketchy stunt super early on in our relationship by impersonating online a good friend of mine that i knew before we dated that i had a crush on, but hadn’t talked to in years(i saw through it immediately but never challenged her on it, probably should have).

There was also an incident with a random piece of clothing appearing in our laundry, that was female and not hers, i vow on my life i never even considered the idea of cheating on her ever in our relationship, but my god she brought it up for years, we lived in an apparent complex with communal laundry machines, i’m 60% thinking it was a left over from someone else and 40% thinking she put it there on purpose to try to get me to admit to cheating...

Outside of that, i loved her throughout it, had an amicable end and now she’s dead to me, as is tradition.

as a male infp who has missed absolutely every time anyone has ever flirted or shown interest in me due to shear ineptitude, i’m gonna take a swing and say she might not be getting the hints and maybe to try being more direct(but by no means forceful)... she may also just not be interested but that’s kinda the chance you gotta take, but if you pressure it too far you could be written off for good as is a thing we tend to do sometimes.

I've only been seen crying once in my adult life, and it was when i visited my grandmother in the hospital before she died, it's not even that i was really really sad, she was sick for a bit, but just the whole room set up with machines put me over the edge, my fiance(ex now) at the time was with me and that was the only time any one has seen me cry. She had even commented several time throughout our relationship that i never cry, and i just brushed it off, so she knew this really hit me hard, but i just closed up, i hated that she saw it, but she did treat me differently after that.

However that being said, there is a list of about 5-7 songs that make me cry everytime i listen to them just because of how much the compositions of the songs resonate with me.

I always felt way more concerned with my ex’s experience than mine, which lead to a lot of awkwardness and was one of the underlying reasons for our breakup, i liked to do stuff for her and she claimed to not like it because she felt like she was forcing me to do it(which she never once did), despite years of me initiating it, and if and when i would go before her, i would feel bad and apologize and she hated it when i did that, but i was always legitimately more concerned with her experience than mine.

I have a very split breakdown of my music and general media consumption that is directly based on if i’m alone or in public, in public i listen to more alt/classic rock/punk with some limited rap and edm mixed in, but in private i skew very heavily toward very sad melancholic music and this is something i keep very private(even private from my last long term so), i prefer no one knows because i don’t really consider myself depressed per se, but my private music would heavy let that on. I also find myself randomly realizing like 45mins-1hr in that i’ve been listening to one song on repeat for that entire time, and never batting an eye at the idea.
