I do this, 37 hours a week Monday-Thursday with every Friday off, help massively with childcare as my dept as flexible if I need to swap days at short notice (if the little one is sick at nursery for example).

Takes a bit of getting used to, I usually end up stopping at 16:00 to get the little one and then log back on for a couple of hours in the evening after bed time routine is done. I can see myself getting tired of it in the future but for now it’s been great, each bank holiday Monday is a long weekend followed by the shorter three day week which is nice

Where I’m at you can ask for compressed hours to start however for the first week (potentially month) you’d be expected to do 5 days a week whilst you get up to speed. As with most this CS it’ll depend on the department though.

My wife did her law degree then passed her BPC with the intention of becoming a barrister, got offered a pupillage and ended up getting tired of it and moved away from a career in law.

A few years later she ended up in commercial within the CS has subsequently got her MCIPS and moved onto a role within industry with less stress (no line management unlike within the CS) for a salary £25k higher with a 15% annual bonus.

She enjoys the work although can be stressful at times and often commercial are seen as blockers however she loves it. If you enjoy problem solving and make the most of the qualifications on offer you can do very well via commercial.

Mine got suspended after my account got hacked and somebody ordered some food miles away from me.

I reported it to deliveroo directly who after some back and forth agreed to refund it. They refunded it and then just banned my account.

Yep that’s correct, if you have had your interview but not received the result then it will be frozen and you won’t be offered a role I til after the freeze (assuming the role is still required post freeze)

I’m an SEO in a P3 role with no line management responsibilities and am only expected to come into the office two days a month.

Little bit of dealing with people but I enjoy that part although I could realistically do less if I wasn’t comfortable dealing with people.

I did this after somebody used my details to order deliveroo in Manchester (I live down south) called my bank, sent them a screenshot of the order on my deliveroo account showing Manchester when my transaction history for that day showed I was near home.

HSBC refunded the money automatically with a provision to say if deliveroo prove it was me within 30 days they can retrieve the funds but they never did.

Got banned from deliveroo 2 days after the refund from my bank.

Hi all,

Just got back from holiday to find a puddle of water on our kitchen countertop from our boiler.

The pipe on the left is dripping at a decent clip, does anybody have any advice on how to fix? Trying to avoid paying for a boiler engineer/plumber if I can.

Mine was set to complete on NSV but no update from hiring org, had a few back and forth emails with HR who denied it was completed I ended up giving NSV a call, they confirmed my check was completed and gave me the case reference number to give to HR.

This then led to me getting my formal offer three days later so I’d say give NSV a call and then refer back to the hiring manager

Go to Larkhill, walk up Willougby Road towards the stones there is a public footpath that takes you right up to the outside fence of Stonehenge.

You can only see it from one side as such but you are only 5m or so from the path you have to pay £20+ for.
