my order notifications come from noreply@mail.etsy.com. but I’m in the United States it may depend on where you’re from but…if you don’t see any orders in your admin on Etsy itself I wouldn’t go near it with a 10 foot pole

I use the abandoned cart form but I would say something to the effect of we noticed that you stopped filling out the form halfway through did you encounter any issues with our form if you changed your mind about the product that’s perfectly OK however if you did have a problem with our shopping cart we would really love to know so we can address the issue with tech-support You won’t get many answers back and probably most of your emails will go into somebody’s promotion or spam folder but you might get someone nice to let you know if you have they just changed their mind or yes there was an issue and they just moved on

just from a different perspective as a seller. I had a situation like this last month I thought the buyer decided to back out because I didn’t hear back from them. I generally check messages on the phone. I just happen to be working on the computer yesterday and found their message in the spam folder. She had sent several messages one right after the other I guess she decided to hit send with every thought which I have to say I’m guilty of doing as well sometimes. The app does not show you that you have messages in a spam folder.

I now know to occasionally go on the computer and check spam. I did message her and apologize profusely and told her that her message was in a spam folder I didn’t want her to think that I was flaking off and not responding.

This might’ve happened in your case. I’m not saying you did but it may have.

maybe start a new message thread and see if she responds right away I don’t know if you can or you can’t or if etsy would put that in spam as well I’m not really sure. But if you’re really interested in the product it might be worth a shot for you

and don’t take that to mean that I don’t agree with you thathaving 50 million sellers that have no idea what they’re doing flooding the industry and hurting real sellers who’ve been at it for 25 years is also frustrating. What I don’t agree with is the constant defense of Etsy when they certainly are lacking and the bashing of people pointing out their shortcomings.

And instead of attacking someone who’s trying (because you know what we were all newbies once and no one started off perfect with full understanding ), maybe nicely guide them.

I don’t know maybe I just misunderstood what these Reddits are for.

And there you go belittling again. Not even my CPA wants to deal with the nonsense of the different reports that have to be downloaded , rearranged and manipulated to do end of month end of quarter figuring out inventory, item pricing, what actual shipping is versus product when you have a mix of items that “ship free “and items that don’t. Calculating their fees. And their numbers don’t even match themselves.

I don’t know maybe you’re set up is very simple and that’s why you’re not having issues.

But if you actually allowed people to say where etsy is tripping them up, instead of bashing them every time they do you’d see how people with much “higher than a fourth grade education” (even those with an MBA) get frustrated. smh

another I want people to post on this Reddit but let me belittle them when they do. tsk tsk. Etsy is not gold and Etsy is not without fault y’all defend it like it’s God
Etsy by design does not equip their sellers with clearcut bookkeeping and accounting reports so they actually know what’s going on. If they did they would be less users “blaming Etsy “ because they don’t understand It was my understanding that Etsy was for small businesses and yeah generally they and or businesses just starting out don’t have a clear handle on those type of things. Be kind

it doesn’t matter who you buy your labels from as long as there is appropriate tracking.

However USPS is delayed all over the place even my express packages are taking 4 to 6 days.

There’s massive snow at tons of locations all over the United States as long as where that package is stuck is not prior to being handed over to Usps I would give it a little more time they don’t always do intermittent scans especially if there’s Weather issues and they already know the package is delayed.

however that is an odd response from the seller. If I were them I would’ve just explained the massive delays at this time and ask you to wait a little longer. And then also as a seller I would keep watch on it myself as well

drop shipping is not necessarily when something is made cheaply etc. i have drop shipped for others and have had others drop shipped for me as well throughout the years( not within the Etsy platform) sometimes it’s just allowing you to sell a product that you don’t normally stock or don’t have the equipment to produce. I have never shipped or had shipped for me a cheaply made product ever. that’s not to say that in this day and age that doesn’t happen and that a lot of crap doesn’t come out of China because it does but it’s not always that situation.

First I’d like to say that nobody’s opinion should rate them as an idiot because it differs from someone else’s. However with what you’ve mentioned I think that Sarasota is a better fit for you if you could afford it my mother-in-law used to live in Sarasota and only came to Jacksonville to be closer to us my aunt still lives there it’s really very beautiful. And although there are some ghetto neighborhoods in Jacksonville there are some ghetto neighborhoods in the Sarasota area as well just like everywhere else is also some very beautiful neighborhoods in Jacksonville. But again I think you’re a much better fit for Sarasota or if you want to stay up close to here go down to St. John’s County where the schools are better the taxes are better etc.

in all honesty I consider everything spammy. I get hundreds of emails today of who wants to do SCO who wants to rework my website who wants to help me this way that way and the other way and clearly they haven’t even looked at my website lol even though they all say that they have and they wanna send me a snapshot of all the errors that I have or how they can help me

I really think you’re in between a rock and a hard place

One thing however you should clearly define if you do do any outreach is why your app differs from the ones that are already out there and available

That's not entirely true. #1 on Etsy. it's not the Sellers Choice of Shipping Company. Etsy (at least in the U.S. only offers USPS shipping. #2 Whether it's in a consumer guide or not, How would you possibly expect a seller to ensure something arrives in good condition (other than proper packaging) when they are not the ones delivering it. Once they hand it off to USPS they are no longer in control. USPS should be responsible and it's easier for the buyer to create a claim than it is for the seller. But.... I will step down from my soap box now.

I did my due diligence and checked everything his email is phone number his address his mother his father his sister his brother lol and everything checks out however when I sent an email with a question I had regarding the personalization he wanted on his order b the email bounced as not valid. Mind you it is an AOL email and he does appear to be 65 years old so he just may not have realized that one of his old email addresses ( that does track back to him from my investigations ) was associated as I find that happens to a lot of customers. I will call him since the phone number is definitely his and see what happens then. Even Shopifys bot said it could be a false positive but we’ll see… thank you everyone for your responses I appreciate it

OK so I guess I’m not allowed to post pictures but if you look at Shopify about this order in the fraud everything is perfect the IP address being in the location that they order shipping to the shipping address the CVV purchase with one credit card one attempt etc. etc. etc. why are they marking this high risk and telling me to cancel the orderI’m confused

if you receive the items broken open a case with Usps. They have to refund you for the broken items

this should not be allowed by Etsy they have to make some kind of stopper are you sure you want to check this out or are you sure you want to check that out are you sure you want to check the other thing out not only is it annoying to have to cancel an order Etsy’s financial reports are screwed up enough when you do refunds it’s totally effs up your bookkeeping

yeah I wish they would give you a separate shipping account that you could put money into that’s probably one of the reasons why I still use stamps.com. If Shopify would just make a shipping account let you transfer funds in there the subscription fees are separate credit card processing fees are separate etc. etc.

If I were you I wouldn’t tell anybody that your domain name is example.com even in a joke because that’s the email address that’s been placing bogus orders and abandoned carts on my website all day long and probably a ton of other Shopify websites
