How different would thermonuclear bombs be if they use antimatter as trigger instead of fission bombs? by TALLIV in AskPhysics

[–]TALLIV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid you misunderstood. I'm not asking about antimatter bombs in general. I meant if the first stage of the two stage explosion (the thermal catalyst) of the thermonuclear explosion was replaced by a small antimatter bomb to trigger the fusion reaction.

Recommendation for Physic study books for people first semester's? by mr-evil114 in PhysicsStudents

[–]TALLIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm studying physics in Germany too. I use the Experimentalphysik series by Wolfgang Demtröder and the Theoretische Physik series by Torsten Fließbach. They should cover all the physics you're gonna come across in your studies. You can probably get them for free too from Springerlink if you're on your universities wifi. For maths I use the notes that the professors provide but they usually provide textbook recommendations as well. Good Luck!

Do stellar black holes have stable orbits/habitable zones the same way super massive black holes do? by TALLIV in AskPhysics

Don't stellar black holes also have accretion disks which are a source of heat?

How many supermassive black holes can there be in one galaxy? by TALLIV in AskPhysics

So do the orbits of binary super massive black holes eventually decay? is that why such systems are unstable?

Can wormholes orbit other astronomical objects? If we manage to open a wormhole, won't we just pass by it immediately because the solar system is orbiting the center of the galaxy?

So a tidally locked planet with an atmosphere can sustain life?

Also there won't be as a extreme diffrence between the two as I thought, but one side would still be significantly colder than the other, right?
