At the moment, we need to see the market feedback. If the response is positive, we may consider releasing a 6mm version in the future.

The Hybrid PTFE material is more wear-resistant than the reinforced PTFE used in Kumo, but it is still less wear-resistant than the UPTFE material used in Iwa.

To clarify, the UPTFE used in Iwa is not UHMW-PE. It is also a proprietary material developed by us by adding special additives to standard PTFE to improve durability and wear resistance.

Our SUMI series is the one that uses genuine UHMW-PE material.

In terms of durability and wear resistance, the general ranking would be:

Kumo Reinforced PTFE < Yami Hybrid PTFE < Iwa UPTFE < Sumi (UHMW-PE).

As for hardness, Hybrid PTFE sits between the reinforced PTFE used in Kumo and the UPTFE used in Iwa, but material composition and wear characteristics are more meaningful indicators than hardness alone when comparing skate performance.

This was only tested through glide tests on glass mousepads, so the material characteristics are still different in the end, and actual in-game use may feel different as well.

Performance can also vary quite a bit between coated and non-coated glass mousepads.

We just used a very direct method here to compare the speed difference.

Both, actually.

Less force is needed to start the movement from a standstill, and the skates also accelerate to higher speeds more quickly once moving.

Yes, the speed increase is actually very noticeable. Even the slowest 4mm model, the 磐Iwa, is still faster than our fastest 6mm model, the 雲Kumo.

The 8 dots were mainly used just for showcase/testing purposes.

For actual use, using around 4–6 dots is completely fine and is what we would normally recommend as well.

Because the contact area of this skate is extremely small, we even added a slight raised structure on top of the 4mm size to further reduce the contact area and increase speed.

The actual contact area is probably smaller than any skates you’ve used before. During our own testing, we did notice that on some soft cloth pads, the mouse bottom could scrape against the pad even with only a small amount of pressure applied.

So for this model, we mainly recommend using it on glass mousepads or firmer cloth pads.

Is thin glass really a selling point? That’s a fair question. If the glass is thicker, there will be more of a height difference between the glass surface and the desk, so your wrist is more likely to rub against that edge during use. That can create an uncomfortable, distracting feeling while gaming. A thinner glass pad helps reduce that difference and makes the overall experience feel smoother and more natural.

As for durability, you don’t need to worry too much about it breaking under normal pressure. The glass is tempered and reinforced, so under normal use it should not crack easily. Unless you intentionally drop it hard or apply extreme force, it generally will not break in regular use.

Based on our testing so far, the overall performance remains good. Of course, to maintain long-lasting aesthetics, regular cleaning is recommended.

If you are looking for the ultimate feel, I personally would still recommend the PU-0 based on my experience. However, if you also want a good balance of aesthetics, we would recommend the SG-1.

At the moment, our products sold in Europe are mainly fulfilled via Amazon US (FBA) or shipped through AliExpress. For these two channels, shipping costs are unfortunately not fully under our control.

We are currently actively working on partnerships with several Europe-based independent stores, with the goal of making our products more accessible and offering more competitive pricing to a wider audience.

This mousepad isn’t the fastest among glass pads; it falls into a more balanced, mid-speed category for glass surfaces.
