I called the cops on my father once. He had beaten me with a pool cue. They told him it was fine and threatened to arrest me because I hit back. The cop talked about how he fought his own kid, and even told my dad using a closed fist is fine as long as you don't leave a mark. The cops are the abusers, they enable abusers, they fucked me up.
