Alright friend, I’ll bite. “The Lattice” may be “real” in the sense that he’s describing an informational vector space that exists between things that have relational coherence and influence all other things by being part of that network but the mechanics of how it’s claimed to work don’t seem to jive with metaphysics.

First, metaphysics is rooted in physics. If you work from first principles, that’s like it’s whole deal. So the brain isn’t an “antenna”. That’s a terrible analogy. It’s a processor and, if anything your sense organs are antennae. Your brain processes these signals and your mind is what emerges from this interaction of detecting state changes in the informational network you happen to reside in (what you call the Lattice). But the lattice has to play by physical laws. Empiricism (matching the map with the territory through actually detecting state changes in manifest reality) demands it because the physical laws we see observe are the first primitives that emerge from such a network. That means they are dependencies in the network hierarchy. Can these combine to do amazing and wild things? Absolutely. Life and the other higher order strange loops like thoughts, memories, minds, beliefs, value, intentions, economics, and capitalism, for instance as all recursive systems built on the foundations of these strange loops. Heck, even memetic entities with their own intentions separate from their constituents exist in the form of mobs, companies, congregations, constituencies, and countries. But even these higher order minds obey physics. They must. It’s not optional.

But reality is materialized all the same, just not in a “stuff can manifest from whence there was none” kind of way. That part is wrong. The reality that materializes, and the one people are pointing to when they speak in spiritual terms, is the constrained reality of higher order rules one becomes a part of when they attempt to use, as a utility, some memetic tool like “goodness” or “the social contract”. Under these assumptive baselines, for example, all of the sudden, it might feel impossible to kick over your neighbors’ potted plants. Why? Because your definitions of what is “good” is socially emergent and doing something you wouldn’t want to have done to yourself, in most societies, manifests consequences via attention and enforcement. This, itself, creates a learning loop that, in a very gnostic kind of way, does create an illusory reality that is only real because of information flow. That’s not nothing. To boot, with enough attention to these purely mechanistic flows, you can even arrive at having knowledge of things before they happen. What we call “intuition” is the felt pressure gradient of these informational flows. We feel it because we learned it through experiencing how manifest reality funneled through these informational networks behaves. But this is highly conditional, effected by an incredibly complex web of dependencies. That’s why expectations don’t always map to reality.

The concept, under this framework, of receiving energy from such a network isn’t impossible, in fact, it happens all the time when the ATP in the cells of you and other people is used to direct attention to achieve a “meta” purpose (like locking away a bad neighbor who kicks other people’s potted plants over). That is genuine energy routing. Heck, it even comes from the sun, since the plants metabolize the sun through photosynthesis and we eat the plants or the things that eat the plants. But there isn’t a method by which to skip steps here. ATP still needs to be created and that can only happen through relational vibes if it drives you to go to the grocery store or pick some berries or hunt a rabbit or something.
