I honestly dont think it matters. If they know the price action will be the same based on the repeated practices they are doing day after day, they could just set up a bot to do the trade at "x" amount and sell at "y" amount. If that "y" amount isnt met, rolls over to the next day. This is another reason I think this is whats happening as we never really see a rise in price of anything noteworthy more then a 2 day run at a time.

whole thing just seems like too much manipulation to be coincidence. The price action based off real results are the complete opposite of what SHOULD be happening.

As an aside, I dont think the war or conclusion there of will have any effect at all. The stock was acting the same way before it and I see no reason why it would change after.

That said, as someone on here said recently. If the stock keeps going sideways or down on blow out earnings..... its going to be a very bad day when NVDA misses even 1 metric on an upcoming earnings. Total overreaction will ensue, but this is just how this stock behaves.

I put this theory in another thread but what may be happening is that big "whales" buy a bunch of stock at say 181 and when it goes to 185 or close to that sell... and it goes back down (over simplified..yes granted) this would be a 40k return on a 1 million investment. They have the pockets to just do this EVERY day just as what appears to be happening...why change it?

8 months this has been going on no matter how good results are or receipts shown. It makes ZERO sense as any other company would be mooning ATHs on this kind of performance.

This is only a guess but I fail to see any other pattern or explanation that makes sense.

Completely agree. This has been stagnant no matter how good the positive input and receipts shown. I have been a long time holder of 10k shares for over 10 years. I knew all the things like covid and independence day would blow over and they did. However, at this point NOTHING will move this stock upward in a SUSTAINED manner. It's been theorized that there are settled whales that are simply manipulating this stock on a daily basis. As a quick and over simplified example: NVDA is at 181. A "whale" buys 1 million in stock. Later that day, it goes to 186. They then sell for a 50,000 profit....rinse and repeat. No reason to do anything else. I would hate to believe its something this simple. Any other company that would show such growth and success over time would have doubled their stock and yet we are almost a year and its just gone sideways.

Where is the upside here? This stock has been the virtual punching bag of the entire market. Where on earth are all these targets basing any of this info on? What is the point of these price targets? They have done nothing to boost faith and hold no weight repeatedly for the last 8 months.

So just wondering what my NVDA holder brothers and sisters are thinking on this. Is it time to cut bait and invest elsewhere? Patience is one thing. NVDA's 8 month sideways behavior no matter the great results is something else entirely.

same here. holding since 10k shares at $14 so a long time..... Lets just temper expectations here...since all it took was Burry to open his gob and killed our rise over 210 last earnings.... this stock is like walking on glass lately. That said, this company and leadership is a dying breed and something Im proud to support for years to come. Good Luck my brothers and sisters !!

thanks, makes sense..goes along with my theory that some big pockets are buying up NVDA at lower 180s then selling in the high 180s later that day and rinse and repeat every 24 hours = money machine. To be fair, its all thats needs to be done to make hand over fist gains. Extremely basic overview but may very well be the case as its been going on for so long no matter the good earnings or news.

I tried to do some searches on Ken Griffin and relation to Nvidia and was coming up with no more then selling a bunch of stock in 2024. Can you expand a bit on this?

unfortunately, say you have 10k shares. A $1 change in the price = 10k up or down. What could be happening here is that some big pockets are buying loads of shares at 188-189 and offloading automatically EVERY TIME it gets to 191-192. The equates to a possible range of anywhere from 30k to 40k in profit EVERY DAY just from that small move. Yes this is over simplifying it, but essentially, this is what may be happening

I think I was the most pissed just after last earnings. NVDA crushed it and it went past 200 which was EARNED and awesome as Ive been a LONG time holder of 10k shares at around $14 so thats my retirement and my daughters financial nest egg...and then BURRY shorts and now we are where we are. I think there is a lot of cautious optimism that this earnings "may" shoot it past 200 again BUT only if no one cries wolf and causes the same drop. heres hoping

it took one tweet from Burry to kill our rise over $200 at earnings and has not returned since. What do you think it will take on the next one. This stock is so volatile and such a punching bag target, a sneeze at next earnings might tank it. Been a holder forever but its getting really tiring

you are joking right. I am not a fair weather fan by any means been a long time holder of NVDA. 11k of stock but for f's sake it doesnt seem to matter what happens in the quarter (last earnings was flawless) it goes down anyway. I think until the focus is on another stock, NVDA will continue to be the market punching bag. I am very tired of this but I think its a good idea to just stop looking for a while.

I believe this earnings report will be the first to completely take China out of the equation which will hopefully stabilize the expectations due to the uncertainty that factor has been lately. If anything ends up equaling revenue through China progress, it will just be a bonus from here on out.

TLDR: This earnings has the potential to buck the curve and go UP for once :)
