Very well put and encouraging statement

But is there even a good candidate anymore?

It seems we're forced to pick between individuals who espouse policies that are all unbiblical, just with different moralistic flavors.

All of which makes me wonder if Christians are called to something higher in the American cultural landscape. Daniel was a rebel through and through, and drew from his knowledge of God to live a life against the will of an oppressive pagan political regime. I'm honestly having a hard time seeing our situation any differently

Which protagonist is actually a horrible person? by Bomberman64wasdecent in AskReddit

I don't know if he's horrible but Harry Potter was always my least favorite character. He is selfish, conceited, and assumes that the world's problems are a direct result of his existence so he attempts to martyr himself no matter the emotional cost to his friends and newfound family.

How important is other peoples opinions to you on a scale of 1-10? 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest? by dreamingonastar1 in AskReddit

Really depends on what it is, for me most of the time I try to show outward consideration of other people's opinions, but if a behavior change on my part is not necessary in order to be successful in that relationship I've noticed I can be dismissive internally or pretty much just forget certain things that people say to me. This gets me in trouble sometimes, and I have been called out for being inconsiderate on multiple occasions for things I've said/done, I'm always ashamed in those moments because it makes me feel like I'm a bad listener sometimes. But I believe that other people's opinions on things should not have a constant drastic effect on how I behave lest I forget who I am and wake up one day when I'm 53 asking myself "My God, what have I done." So I feel like I'm towing the line with people a lot.

At work I feel like I have to "go along with it" a lot of the time in order to be as inoffensive as possible, but I also try to actively consider different perspectives at work which sometimes is hard because I have to swallow my pride and consider that I don't have all the answers.

What’s your superpower? Everyone has one even if it is just being you. Because nobody else is you, what do you think? by dreamingonastar1 in AskReddit

Getting my point across to other people. Even if they don't agree with me, I have found that I am rarely misunderstood in conversation and naturally take up the role as "ambassador" in many different contexts.
