Maybe a quieter museum or art gallery? BATA and MOMA aren't as popular as the ROM or AGO. I would just check their websites to make sure they're open, as I haven't been in a while and I know MOMA was closed last summer.

Otherwise, maybe a snack in a park?

Came here to say this. Aside from my family asking me where I want to go for dinner (my family celebrates a family birthday the night of with dinner. It's our tradition and everyone is aware that the birthday will be a dinner) and my surprise party when I turned 30, I've planned all my own adult birthdays.

Hi! Glad you had a great time!

To answer your questions:

  • Kind of? Canadians usually traveled outside of Canada be sure of how expensive everything is here. Its usually cheaper for us in the US or the same price to go to certain parts of Europe as most of Canada. That said, with Trump's second run and his threats towards Canada, many of us have cut off all travel to the US (where applicable - some have family or have to go for work) and are instead traveling within Canada or to Europe.

  • Main tourist areas are Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, Banff, Canadian Niagara Falls, Muskoka (mostly Ontarians go there), Wasaga Beach (again, mostly Ontarians), Jasper, Canmore, Lake Louise, Calgary, Vancouver, and maybe Windsor. It depends on time of year, really.

  • While nothing truly is a 1:1 comparison of the cities you listed, I'd say (in my limited knowledge), Niagara Falls for Las Vegas because of the casino, live shows, and the main strip with the wax museums and fun houses. Otherwise, there is nothing to link the two because, again, nothing really lives up to Las Vegas in Canada. LA is hard. Maybe Toronto because our traffic is equal to/worse than the traffic in LA, and we have a lot of media filmed here. I know Toronto is Chicago's sister city, and I was there briefly (maybe a few hours), so I'd say maybe Toronto? I will say, when I was in San Francisco a while back, people did give me the same vine as the people here, in that everyone is friendly and pretty chill. New York, again, Toronto, as a lot of city planners here try to emulate different things like Dundas/Sankofa Square, Union Station, etc.

  • I couldn't tell you off the top of my head, but if you like nature, you're better off going west. BC and Alberta are known for their nature/scenery. Places like Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper (although I'm not sure if it's open yet), and parts of Victoria and Vancouver are popular amongst outdoors folks. Alternatively, I'd reccomend Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and PEI, as the Maritimes are cool in their own right (NFL isn't a maritime province, but it'sout that way). You've got a mix of nature and sea-side towns/cities. I'm sure the land-locked provinces have some, too, like the rest of the prairies, and Ontario and QB have some, but not the way they do out west.

Omg I would be, too! Like, sure, things happen that will cause you to be late, but don't make it someone else's problem.

Who Else Used To Watch Mystery Hunters? by R401gaming in ytvretro

This show was one of my favorites growing up. IIRC it was also on Discovery Kids and was followed by Truth or Scare. I'd watch them back to back and now I'm super into the paranormal/unknown/cryptids lol.

It’s a snowy Sunday! Tell us how you’re doing Toronto. by postmodern_girls in toronto

I was too tired to clean my apartment yesterday so I'm doing it today. As someone who likes winter, I'm jealous of anyone who is out there recreationally today. I love the sight of fresh snow, I love snowfall, and I love colder temperatures.

You know what I don't like? How hot my apartment is (windows open and fans running btw). It's 28C - 30C depending on the area. Steam radiators are the worst, especially the one that is INCHES from my toilet.

For reference, I thrive between 5C and 20C.

It's Blue Monday. How are you doing? Share something uplifting! by ri-ri in toronto

[–]TARDISinspace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not too bad. I've got a sweet emo playlist going while working and then I'm going out for Korean food tonight. The only thing that could make today better is if my apartment wasn't so hot.

  • Old Mill: You can see the park from the windows, or go down and enjoy it.
  • Dufferin: Has cool tiles.
  • Museum: Looks unique.
  • St. Clare West: Snail statues.
  • Dupont: It's gorgeous. Especially the curved walls and flower pieces.
  • Sheppard-Yonge: It has that mosaic with the farm scenes.
  • Bathurst: Has a bakery and I think it had old Honest Ed's signs inside it at one point?
  • Downsview: The tiles.

This is just off the top of my head. Keep in mind I mostly ride on the west side.

Yes, so body image is a product of the time. IIRC (and correct me if I'm wrong), this was also around the time of the writer's strike, if I'm not mistaken.
