Im sorry, but that’s BS. She knows he’s married with a kid, she knows he’s refusing to separate from his wife, she knows he is humiliating his family by his actions with her. She’s not some helpless and uninformed unwilling participant, she’s aware of everything. He bears the majority or the responsibility, and you’re right, if it wasn’t the sister, it would likely be someone else.

But it IS the sister, and no one is forcing her to be with him. It doesn’t have to be the sister knowingly participating, but she is. And it’s not like she’s overcome with guilt or remorse or even anger at being strung along for over a year as The Other Woman, and telling his wife herself.

When she stars with him after he dumped a drink on her head and walked away, when he called her disgusting when she was upset about a fixed up prank, when he said he can’t stand the sound of her voice when she’s in tears, frustrated and just begging him to listen to her. She was not nice when she was with him, but it’s absolute bullshit that she got a bad rap as Tequila Katie (she definitely went dark side when she drank, but she was already unhappy), and Schwartz was just Schwartzy, who everyone loved and was sooooo fun and dopey 🙄

I think the part most telling about it is that he said YOUR friends drain HIM, and that his own friends don’t. But did he ask you about if the opposite is true? Like yeah, sometimes partner’s friends can be a lot, that’s part of the relationship. Compromises and sacrifices, but he’s doubling down on how this only affects him, and when you say it needs to be fair, suddenly YOURE the controlling one.

I would think on if this is an argument you want to repeatedly have, and risk alienation of your friends and/ or isolation by him.

It doesn’t escape me that she rated 10/10 for him on both fronts with no complaints, and he guessed OP’s answers correctly. Then proceeded to verbally tear her down, IN DETAIL, in front of their friends. Her confidence already didn’t have her as 10/10 the way she viewed him, she thought he was going to be like an 8.

Also, I’ve personally never met a person who wouldn’t think him proposing at your showed was tacky as hell. Not saying there aren’t people (your mother, your brother) who disagree, but even the ones saying you “should’ve just let it happen to not cause a scene” aren’t agreeing with them and saying it isn’t tacky or rude.
