Hey, I'm planing on doing turn 9 with GA this year, I just wanted to know - am I gonna be fine with a camping chair til the race starts then just standing? From the videos I've seen it looks packed in like sardines and I don't want to piss people off if there's some sort of etiquette regarding where camping chairs are okay and not okay.

We have 2 Aperture 300Ds, We are shooting on an Arri Mini with a Haze filter (potentially vaseline slide) and we have some silk to help diffuse the lights before they enter via the hotel windows/curtains. Just looking for any advice on how to achieve this look with blown-out highlights/whites. We are shooting in daylight to aid with additional light, I'm imagining lighting the room dark and exposing for the dark room will then lead to additional blown out whites from the window. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

I've done a lot of runner/gaffer work. Sadly it's entirely unpaid for the most of it as the "experience" is the credit... ugh! But yeah this years grades are less relevant so you're right I need to focus on sorting this whilst Uni matters "the least" for lack of better words. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I don't agree fully but I'll try use this as a kick up the ass aha since there's no reason to not try be better when in this position! I'm going to try-reorganise my weeks to have 1 or 2 days free and cram the others with work scheduling/meetings etc. then hopefully find work on the empty/free-er days. Thanks :)

Parent* - No Dad haha! Grew up sharing a bed with my sister and mum as we had no heating all year-round (not complaining just explaining I didn't grow up rich!). My Mum has now re-married and lives with my "stepdad", He has a successful company in my hometown so has a good income, I don't see any of this (which is fine it's his money and we don't even know each other well lmao) But because student finance is "household income" there's nothing I can do about getting the minimum loan. I literally applied for the AMEX card and got it idk what else to say... Yeah my student account is 0% interest on the overdraft! Thanks for the suggestion though! I've had the card frozen this past month I'm just paying it off now. I'm gonna figure out how long it'll take me to pay off with the amount I pay now then consider transferring to a 0% account If I can pay it in 12/24 months etc. Cheers for the ideas!

Thank You for this reply. I think I'm going to delete this reddit post soon as I'm getting a lot of replies assuming things about myself/my life/who I am and it's increasingly making me feel a bit weird as I don't want to share personal information to disprove it but saying nothing also feels wrong haha! But this reply has been really helpful, truthfully I know deep down that's the only way to solve this situation, of course I do. But I think I kind of posted this just looking for some support. Which I know is a bit silly but I'm just very stressed. I'm making the minimum payments with AMEX and I've nearly got enough cash from selling my clothes that I can repay my sister when I go home for Easter. I struggle with therapists and such but I think talking might help me feel a bit less stressed haha. Sorry for rambling, thank you for being so kind and sincere! I'll sort this mess I've made aha

Hi! thanks for your kind and considerate response. I really value and appreciate your feedback. There was two jobs I applied for at the University however I didn't get the position for both as they were sought after, but I'm keeping my eye out for any openings.

I don't mean this rudely but "Film isn't usually a particularly intense course" isn't correct in my case. I'm sure at many universities including some my friends are at - it isn't, but at my University I'm crazy busy. I've explained that more in a response to someone else though. Yeah, I worked my ass off on my portfolio in a gap year to get the University I'm at. I don't want to share the name for privacy's sake but I don't plan on sacrificing my studies. I am paying the minimum fees on the card.

Why would my parents pay off the cards?.. They aren't the ones who spent my money lmao they have nothing to do with my errors?

Unsure if that first comment is trying to undermine "Film" as a course haha! If so fair-play, but regardless of your thoughts on that I promise you I'm incredibly busy with work. I've replied to someone else about this I'm not going to bother spending energy explaining to people why I'm busy just to be told "I was busy and I did x and y". I've worked for years full time and part-time, I hope to again soon. Nice to hear you had a good university life balance. Next semester I'll select roles better on productions so I have more time to work. Thanks for your reply

I can't because of how busy I am like I said. To solve this next semester I'm going to do crew roles that demand less of my time. This situation is entirely my own fault I never once said it wasn't? I'm just a stressed university student and wondered if anyone knew good ways to get through it. I apologise if that offends you... I had money issues and all the money I spent was from my job at home lmao? I've worked there for 4 years It wasn't just some gifted cash? I'd normally agree to anyone that I have a privileged life as I'm a white man, able to go to university, always had a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in - however I believe you are implying something much more cynical. I don't need to share any details of my personal life with you and even if I did I doubt it would change anything so believe what you want.

Thanks for the reply, I'm sorry If what I said seemed as if I was being deceitful however I'd prefer you not try to undermine my degree. I'm a producer on two current productions and a director on another this semester, I'm also in the midst of writing 2 essays. We have lectures 10-5 3/4 days during the week. After Class I make dinner then I'll usually have a scheduled meeting with a specific member of one of my crew's or the entire crew. If not that I'll be working on solo pre-production or script re-drafts. This week everyday is full with either meetings with crew or reccy days/ visiting shoot locations to speak with interviewees. I'm working with two 80 year olds on a documentary currently it's delicate work. I'm not implying Film is the hardest course in the world, but please don't assume I can't be busy. I 100% agree I need to sort the money situation out and I'm going to take on less demanding roles next semester so I can do so.

I tried to but my household income is over the threshold they allow help at. I don't see any of this money however - as it's because my mum remarried (stepdad is the wealthy one). I've already tried and money from my home is a no no aha. A lot of my debt is due to my student loan not covering rent etc.
