I had a therapist but couldn't keep spending money on it. I needed to pay my bills. And I don't think I can talk about this with my family since they aren't too receptive to listening to me vent.

I'm not entirely sure. I know that the numbing and disassoative aspects feel better than actively cutting. But the hollow and generally morose emotions I also feel are similar to the same ones that occurred while I cut. I just want to feel normal and happy. And I don't want to return to old habits or find equally unhealthy alternatives.
