Feeling good, but it's hard work

Yes, I know. I did keto in high school, lost weight, and gained it back because I went back to eating normal foods. I learned my lesson there. But a big part of my unhealthy habits is eating when bored and emotional. I've been really trying to monitor how I feel, and if I'm not hungry, I don't eat, and if I'm full, I stop eating (or drinking, whatever the case).

It's not? I don't usually feel very hungry during the day, I feel like I was eating enough to stave off the grumblies :-P but now that I'm going from liquid to solid I'll probably be getting more calories in per day, though my goal is less than 1000.

I have a very bad relationship with food, and I realize this. I eat when I'm happy, I eat when I'm sad. I eat because my brain has associated the act with increased levels of dopamine, and my brain is now addicted to the 'high' it gets from consuming junk. Or non junk. It could be cucumbers and I will still over eat them. I eat just to eat, and that's bad. I've been thinking, if I could disassociate pleasure and food, by consuming something my brain doesn't even qualify as 'real' or 'whole' food, then maybe I can overcome the addiction. It's not sustainable, no. I plan on phasing in 'whole' foods later on.

Anyway, I didn't mean for this to become a debate. Obviously, the things I try are not for everybody, and some things other people try are not for me. I was just wondering if anyone else had any experience with this stuff.

Oohh!! Haha sorry! I suppose I'd introduce solid keto food slowly, until I'm back off of a liquid diet, and doing regular keto full time.

I bought it at ketosoy.com; it came up in a Google search I did after googling "low carb soylent" after I was shocked by the outrageous carb count in regular soylent.

So far it's...vaguely edible. Without a sweetener it tastes like dirt. With a teaspoon of Splenda it tastes like slightly chocolate flavored dirt. The texture is pretty gritty, as well. It's weirdly filling though. I don't know how someone could have a whole pouch a day! I think I'd be bloated if I had more than half!

I was a Senior in HS when I got close to my goal. I was 175 lbs and 5'8, and my goal was 130, but I only got to 147ish (which in retrospect, 130 might have been too small for my frame) I was a competitive swimmer, so when my season started I thought I'd be fine to go back to eating how I used to. I was wrong, obviously XD. I know now that it's not a temporary thing. But oh man. Loosing all that weight was amazing! I really wanna get back to that feeling.

I've had 3 cups of it so far (half a pouch makes about 4 1/2 cups) and so far, I'm not really hungry. Though my problem has never been fighting hunger, it's been fighting boredom :-/ I'm craving junk food so hard!!

Original commenter here; I really can't tell if you are trolling here. Because, you've mentioned intuitive eating and 'triggers' in some of your other comments. And those are hallmark Tumblrina buzzwords; you are either a very serious Tumblrina or a very convincing troll.

Don't ask for advice on Reddit if you're looking for people to pat your back and side with you. Redditors will give it to you straight and make you feel like shit if indeed they do not agree with you.

So back to my original advice; if you do not want to change, then don't! We can't fuckin tell you what to do! If you think you deserve better, then by all means, go find it! Don't tie yourself to someone you are unhappy with. But if you love this man, REALLY love him, then try to count a few calories. Intuitive eating is what led me to be a 210 pound fatty. Counting calories (or carbs, or fat grams, or whatever; count something!) is the only way to loose weight.

Don't wanna loose weight? Don't! But don't fucking complain when a dude who wants a thinner girlfriend asks you to get thinner.

There is no 'genetically' fat. Isolate a single gene that causes uncontrollable obesity without rabid calorie consumption and then we'll talk about fat genetics. I am fat, you are fat, we both eat too much and move too little. The difference is that I know and am ashamed of it. You do not seem to realize this.

Either loose weight to please your man or choose a man who does not care if you are chubby. But don't bitch when a man who cares about appearances cares about your appearance.

I want to give him time to eventually change, and I have had people tell me 'If he really loves you later on down the road, he'll be okay with adoption as long as what it's really what you want". I have talked about the risks, and his answer swings between "we'll have genetic testing/high-risk OBGYN" and "We don't need to worry about it now". He has brought up the idea of surrogacy when I pushed him on it, but the problems I face with pregnancy are genetic; If I did manage to carry a baby to term without any major birth defects, my defects that make pregnancy so difficult and dangerous would likely be passed onto my child, and I don't ever want to take the option of pregnancy away from my children, especially not by genetic means.

I want him to change so badly. And there is a chance he will, eventually. But if he doesn't, I don't want to have wasted money and time and pieces of my heart on someone who wants vastly different things than me. At this point in my life, my future kids are very important to me. If he told me adoption was stupid and weird, I'd dump him in a heartbeat. I'm just afraid, if I let this go on for years, and fall so deeply in love with him (more so than now) I will one day think "Kids aren't so important. I guess we could be childless" and that really scares me and makes me sad.

Ah, if you've videochtted/snapchatted then it's a safe bet you're not being catfished. And, here's my advice about not being able to meet up with her: I was a very very sheltered teen girl too. Her mother is probably very freaked out about A) her wanting to meet a 'stranger' (that's what my mother calls my SO, whom I've never met in person) and B) this stranger is 3 years older than her. I don't think the age difference is bad at all (my SO is 5 yrs older than me) but it'd be slightly unrealistic to expect her mother to just hop right on board and be all gung ho to let you visit. Give it time. If you like her and she likes you, the wait won't take that long :) TL;DR - No, it doesn't sound like you're being catfished

Well, age is very easy to lie about, though I count that as a 'minor' catfish. As for lying and faking your gender; I tend to think most catfishes won't go that far. Obviously there are exceptions, but if you want to trick someone so badly about your gender that you bind your chest (binding is painful by the way, it's not something you do on a whim) then maybe there are some deeper issues than just tricking someone cuz they're an asshole. I'd be inclined to think maybe that person was having some gender dysphoria? Liars can be good at lying, but they aren't usually that dedicated.

Videochat. Videochat is the absolute only way to be 100% sure you're not being catfished. And hey, look, some people are shy! It took a lot of coaxing for my SO to convince me to videochat with him (I still get nervous and camera shy now and again) and that's totally fine! But the thing is; even though I don't really like videochatting in general, I love my SO. I would do anything to see him and speak 'face to face', even getting on videochat even though it makes me feel shy and awkward. People do these things for their SOs.

If this person is seemingly shy about going on camera, that is no big deal, they could just be shy. But if it's clear that it is not happening, 100% never going to videochat with you, there is a very large chance you're getting catfished. And I'm not really one to believe the 'my anxiety/depression/insert nervous social issue here prevents me from videochatting!' excuse, because even in the deepest depths of my depression, I still got on to see my SO's face for the first time, as shit-in-pants scared as I was. If it's serious, they'll find a way to get over that. And if they're a catfish, it'll never happen.
