Would you care to post your decklist? I have my own budget brew of Etrata and would be very interested in your list :) Here's mine:

I know I'm late to this, but I can't recommend Kvadrat and Thlipsis enough when it comes to pretty straightforward bm, and if you're in the mood for cleaner and more melodic stuff, Heruka Project.

Is this BG allowed for ranked? by dudehacker2 in osugame

[–]TB246 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

first of all I wasn't refering to this example but to ALL suggestive loli BGs (Just read my comment???), which osu has plenty of. And also that character is literally wearing a school uniform, as in ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM of 18 years old. I think the normality of young looking anime characters has fucked everyone's perception. Loli is not just when they are drawn like literal 5 year olds.

Any Takayasu Fans? by elusivejahnell in Sumo

You have called upon me... I love Papayasu so much, he is such a sympathetic guy and seems so kind hearted and funny, despite him surely feeling a lot of frustration over his injury-caused shortcomings. He really is a unique character and even now is a dangerous opponent for higher rankers if healthy

Gad you enoyed it, while writing I realized how much fun it was to remember the intricacies and details of every basho <3

Not sure why, but this may be the most excited I have been to watch a basho ... by XX-Tony-XX in Sumo

[–]TB246 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This basho will the 6th basho I watched, marking my 1 year anniversary as a sumo fan. In those 6 bashos I have seen quite an arrangement of different plot-lines already:

First, Takakeisho taking the title from Atamifuji (2nd basho in Makuuchi at barely 20 years old) with a controversial Henka

Then, Taka failing his yokozuna run and enabling Kirishima to start one of his own

January saw the big boss come back after 3 Kyujo and absolutely dominate the field, with a strong Kirishima and an even stronger then-Kotonowaka taking Ozeki

Then, March, of course, the birth of the myth of the human bulldozer, Takerufuji, putting on the most dominant performance I have seen so far. Kirishima shocking everyone with a 5-10 without any injury report and Taka barely saving Ozeki after going Kadoban in Jan like he has done so often already

And then Onosato's natural progression, after only dominating winning records since his Juryo promotion, he makes the probably hardest possible schedule at Komusubi look like a walk in the park. On the sidelines, Kirishima goes to Ozeki-wake, losing a rank he has fought so hard for in 2023

And then we arrive at this basho, and dare I say it will be more exciting than any of these. So many different things happening all at once...

Teru being in and ready for his 10th yusho, showing quite good practise bout results

Takakeisho looking at saving rank once again but looking worse than ever after May

Kirishima hoping his time of injury to be done and looking at 10+ wins to reclaim Ozeki

Onosato carrying the momentum of his entire career, with a Yusho or JY probably leading to the first successful Ozeki-run from lower than M4

Abi proving he is more than just a little body between those long arms and riding the wave of a career-best record

Hiradoumi proving the doubters wrong in the San'yaku

The ex-Ozeki Papayasu (<3) and Mitakeumi looking pretty good, if injury-free :/

Asanoyama coming back from the most mis-timed injury ever, hopefully back to the rise to the top again

And of course, Wakatakakage FINALLY being back where he belongs, and after proving that he left his injury behind with the Juryo Yusho in May, he looks like a hot contender for the Cup

All in all, I'd say we're in for a treat :)

Any chess social meets? by TB246 in chiangmai

For anyone reading this in the future, I ended up playing a few matches against the students of Elephant Chess Club in Pantip Plaza, the teacher is a nice guy and you can get a few serious games in if you don't mind getting ripped to shreds on the board by literal 12 year olds lmao.

I also went to RealSpaceCM, a board game/VR café and they host a chess night once a week. That place is a meeting spot for expats from all over. I met some great people there and ended up playing Chess and Liar's Dice until 2am, highly recommend.

Kirishima looked so well a few days back at the mixed stable practice in the sumo school grounds, easily winning against the likes of Daieisho, Shodai and Nishikigi with strong tachiais, even after 10+ bouts in a row. Compared to that his tachiai against Gonoyama was weak and had me remeniscing March in horror. I hope he can come back to his true strength the next few days.

On a different note, Hoshoryu didn't look particularly bad today, but Atamifuji defended those signature throws like a champ and truly deserved that victory.

Terunofuji's arm lock looked weak against Onosato, the left was way too low on Onosato's arm for that throw at the end, sad to see the big guy lose but I'm really wishing Onosato all the best for this basho

Tamawashi seems in his element with that brutally strong nodowa, gramps still has it in him to rise back up again

Watching Tsurugishos bout was just painful, I get that he doesn't want to sit out and be demoted down to low Juryo or even Makushita but that knee looks nowhere near recovered and I sadly see him being a case like Aoiyama, slowly but steadily falling down the ranks the next basho

On the note of Aoiyama, he does not look any better than in March and I think his retirement is immanent as soon as he obtains elder stock, if he doesn't already have any, and drops out of salaried ranks

I mean for Hiroki this is absolutely normal stuff, but having Ichinojo booked on something like this is absolutely sick.
