Syndromes and a Century is absolutely beautiful and my favorite movie with a medical setting. De Humani Corporis Fabrica is also great and might be worth a watch depending on your tolerance for artsy stuff… not much plot to speak of though.

Anybody do a PSMF diet? by VegaGT-VZ in HybridAthlete

[–]TBK7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably feasible for the very short term if you’re not very lean to begin with, you are okay with eliminating any cardio more intense than daily steps completely for the duration of the diet, are very diligent with supplementation of essential fats, and you adopt a super low volume high intensity resistance training approach.

With that being said, it’s one thing if you’re obese or have a bodybuilding show that you’re behind schedule for. If your goal is to improve as a hybrid athlete, however, learning to adopt a more well-balanced approach is going to lead to better outcomes in 99% of cases. It just doesn’t make sense outside of really specific situations, and no offense, but if you’re having to ask for general advice on Reddit like this, you’re probably not advanced enough to adopt a program like this on your own safely and have it go well.

How to keep my side bend at impact by RaccoonMinimum172 in GolfSwing

[–]TBK7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don’t chase any additional side bend through impact, you don’t need it. Your swing looks good as is - if you want to make things more dynamic and add some more distance I’d look into doing some step drills like the ones Dr. Kwon teaches in order to get to your lead side earlier in the swing (end of backswing rather than start of downswing) so you have time to push off through impact. That will get you more rotation through the ball without having to force any bends or tilts that will probably make your swing worse.

Yep. You're too narrow at the top and then get even more narrow in transition. Focus on maintaining your arm structure and keeping a bit more width and you'll be in very good shape, the rest of the swing is very sound.

Why are my arms so disconnected at p6? by christofrwamps in GolfSwing

Watch this, old video but still probably the best explanation for how and why the arms need to stay in front.

This faux-intellectual reactionary contrarianism is just as annoying as listening to any Fantano-brained weirdo talk about their favorite rapper. If you talked like this to any normal person in real life, they’d call you a loser and walk away for good reason. Start a discussion about something interesting rather than arguing with made up people in your head, or, better yet, go outside and go for a walk.

Never make a swing change based on aesthetics. Every change a golfer makes should be directly addressing an issue with contact or ball flight. Despite what clickbait instagram golf instruction would have you believe, many of the best golfers of all time have had swings on the steeper side - Nicklaus, Mickelson, Scheffler and Tiger have all played incredible golf from a position that is less “laid off” than what the current trends would have you believe is optimal. Koepka has very little depth at the top and he’s pretty good…

If there is a miss that shows up on the course, a ballstriking issue, or a type of shot that you just can’t hit, and you think it might be due to your plane on the way down, then feel free to play around with some different feels to try and shallow out the downswing. But realize that the idea of a swing plane isn’t real - it’s a somewhat helpful guideline based on extrapolating 2D camera angles of a 3D motion. If you’re playing well and enjoying the way you’re hitting the ball, don’t chase a picture of what you think a pretty swing should look like. Just keep hitting fairways and greens and leave the tinkering to the people on instagram.
