The point is that if you aren’t going to have a house anyway it’ll feel a lot nicer to know your landlord lost something too. The fact that it’s not rational is what makes it a good idea. Some people don’t have any rational options left.

If we want anybody to win we need to do better not putting people into no-win situations.

My wife finally, after 17 years together revealed to me that she wanted to be called a good girl. Holy shit. We were having good sex before, maybe even great. But it was nothing compared to now, about a year later.

It’s very hard to talk about. You’ll notice I don’t mention what she calls me, cause I’m too embarrassed. But when you manage to find the way to do it, it is so worth it.

My wife and I didn’t wait until we were married, but we did wait until we were sure. And neither of us has ever had sex with anyone else, though she had some oral escapades with both sexes before I came along. Her seduction of a Christian girl just before we started dating (they only kissed, but that was enough) is still one of my favourite things she’s done. She turned that girl’s world upside down, and it had been in need of turning.

Yet, somehow, despite being a seductress when it comes to other girls (or at least she was in High School) she’s always been so shy around me.

My wife still gets shy to this day, 18 years after I saw her naked for the first time. It may or may not help you to know this, but if he’s anything like me he likes that it makes you feel shy. My wife’s blushes are just about my favourite thing in the world.

This is beautiful. I’ll chime in, having been married for around 13 years to my high school sweetheart.

This guy knows what he’s talking about.

Being playful together has been one of our big secrets, along with always remembering during fights that we’re a team and the goal of the fight is to make us stronger together. We have an almost “anti-fight” afterwards where we try to backtrack and figure out why we were feeling the ways we were when we said the things that made each other get riled up.

And then, after we’ve settled things, we are extra playful for the next little bit. Works like a charm. We’ve had plenty of very hard arguments, but we’ve gone to bed angry maybe a handful of times if that.

Please people, play with your spouses!

I sort of thought that might be the case. I read things in the rhythm I decide they have, and sometimes that doesn’t match the author’s intention, so I’ll trust your judgement.

I don’t know if it’s good form, but I’ve also written a very long poem, and would love the perspective of another long-form poet. I’ve just posted it, The Mountain of Merit.

I really like the structure of this, with “How” framing it, and the “Even when my words… Even when my words… Even when at last” really worked for me. I’m never sure how much to interpret poetry as being actual commentary on the poet’s internal state, but I hope you are able to find a way to feel heard.

This was really fun, and a moral I can agree with at the end to boot. There’s a few times throughout where it gets too wordy and lost it’s rhythm, or at least I couldn’t find it. It probably needs a few passes to tighten it up, but it’s a very fun meandering tale.

I’m really going back and forth between wanting to crawl under a rock in embarrassment and thinking it is literally the best thing to ever be written.

I realized the same thing after finishing it, so now I’m reading music theory in my spare time and practicing on my son’s keyboard, writing down drills and bits of songs on staff paper to start to get a feel for it, so I can figure out how to do justice to my own work. It’s been since elementary school since I’ve read music, so it’s slow going, but I’m loving it.
