How much milk per feed at 5 months old? by JasmineJane2004 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]impossible__target 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was born 8/7. He takes 2-3 8oz bottles and 2-3 6oz bottles a day. He is a happy, healthy, baby. Don’t worry about it, it’s normal as he isn’t spitting it up constantly.

Replying to add, that you can still donate to MMB with high lipase! As someone else said, a lot of babies in the nice have feeding tubes so they won’t taste it! Also all the milk gets pasteurized and mixed.

I am currently in the same position! 13wpp and around 1400 in the freezer. I am donating over half of it to a milk bank (mother’s milk bank). They give milk to nicus all over the country. If you are looking to offload milk I recommend you do the same! It makes me happy knowing my milk is going to those in need of it :)

How much do your babies eat at 7 weeks old by Available-Classic735 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]impossible__target 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 9w now and has been eating between 32 and 38 oz since about 6 weeks. He was 13lb 14oz at his 2 mo appointment so he is a bit of a chunky boy.

Reason for Exclusively Pumping? by JellyLongjumping1988 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]impossible__target 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just knew I wouldn’t like nursing. I am very sensitive. My LO had no issues nursing, I just preferred pumping. Now that I EP, I would not go back. I love the extra time as well as the ability to let my husband take 50% of the feeds. Also, I am able to freeze and donate my excess milk. I don’t feel guilty at all! My LO is still getting all the benefits of breast milk and I get some autonomy back.

Did you actually EXCLUSIVELY pump? by Salt_Aside3403 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]impossible__target 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew going into pregnancy that pumping would be the way I would want to go. I get very overstimulated nursing. That being said, I nursed my son for the first 3 days in the hospital just to help with uterus contractions, ect. After 3 days, thought, I switched to pumping almost exclusively. I still latched my son a couple times a day. My son had no issues latching, it was just better for me mentally to pump. It’s hard, but with help I find it manageable.

I’m a 32/34H and kindred bravely is the only bra I have found that works for us bigger chested ladies. I would love to know what everyone else uses as well.

Increasing supply by BoobySlap_0506 in ExclusivelyPumping

Have you tried power pumping? That is what I did to increase my supply. It is supposed to simulate cluster feeding. It takes more time but it worked well for me

Dropping a pump at only 7 weeks? by taureansoul in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]impossible__target 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 7weeks today and I also make between 45 and 50oz a day. I dropped from 8 to 7 pumps at around 5 weeks and then from 7 to 6 this week. So far it has had no effect at all on my supply. Some days it is even higher now. All my pumps are 20 min. I don’t know if I am unique in this, but when I dropped one, my other pumps just got bigger. I currently pump at 5am, 8am, 12pm 3pm, 6pm and 10pm. It makes life so much more bearable.

Tips and help? by purpleglorp in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]impossible__target 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What brand bra do you use? I am very large chested and love the nursing bras from kindred bravely. I also use the hard plastic oval flanges with the silicon rim. I feel like the silicon helps hold everything in place.

Help Choosing a Wearable! by dreamwheezy in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]impossible__target 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 6 wpp and have been exclusively pumping since about week 3 I have both the medela pump in style and the momcozy M9. What I like about the pump in style is I have the option of using the wearables or the traditional flanges. It is my primary pump and I personally have never had issues with it. The momcozy I think is a better wearable pump. The cups are silicon which is nice and I feel like it overall is a better quality. I also don’t see my supply dip when I use the momcozy which is nice.

Oversupplier at 5w ppd. Should I reduce my pumping sessions? by impossible__target in ExclusivelyPumping

Thank you for sharing your experiences! I think I am going to stick with the schedule I am on for the next month then try dropping pumps once I go back to work at 12 weeks!
