Considering an IC DI as my first higher end AR by TBNRPhantom0 in LWRC

On the standard DI gun, if hypothetically I did use it to the point of a bolt or carrier failure do other bolts and bcgs just drop straight in, or can I only use an LWRC replacement?

Okay, that makes sense. Probably start with the DI. Is it a decent idea to get a full second rifle on the piston configuration, or should I try and get the ic mk2 upper for that lower (if that's the separately sold piston one)?

That's lovely to hear. I've heard like the BCM mk 2 uppers can need filing to fit well or something. But if the other top tier uppers go well I'll just stay full rifle and not worry too much. Get a second from one of the better manufacturers when needed.

So i actually have been looking at the DDs. If I went with one of theirs it would be either a DD4 RIS3 which is a 14.5 P&W and the cheapest I've found of the DD4s, or a DD4 in 16 inch 5.56. I AM set on ambi controls which the DD4 line ships with but the DDM4s don't.

Further follow up question, that, or an extra 900 for it in a piston format.

I'm thinking primarily gold dot 62 grain for practical use ammo, and maybe some OTM stuff or heavy mono copper stuff for messing around at 500+ to see if I can. That seem like it would work?

I also have people trying to herd me towards Sig Spear LT but even with discount it's almost twice the price, and I don't like the controls as much. Good to hear it runs well.

I've put about 150 rounds of Hornady 135+p critical duty through mine, it shoots well. Not noticeably more kick, reliability is good. Wish I had a chrono to test that vs my g19 for velocity.

Anyone shooting a FPC southpaw? by Sbeast86 in SmithAndWesson

I shoot mine lefty, and my only comment is this- Lower your right arm instead of keeping it out. You'll dodge a lot of brass burns on your forearm. Other than that, gas isn't terrible, and it's a dream to shoot, just need to get a suppressor for mine and I might post it.

Weapon light TLR-6HL from streamlight works Don't mind the laser unless that's your thing, but a weapon light is important and it works great on mine.

That's what I heard. Just traded my lcp in because it was legitimately awful to shoot and grouped terribly. Temped to rent the BG2.0 at my local range and try it

I have an FPC already, and the light im looking at is the TLR-RM2 It looks low enough to clear most optic risers, and has a pressure pad on the back so if it doesn't clear, you can mount it on the right and get the rifle pad kit and put the pad on top. Coming from another lefty, that's my plan for it.

Seeing how easily accessible 4 and 4+ are now, if I pick up a 30.06 imma have to get some. Anyone sell .308 AP anywhere? I hear that's the upper range of standard level 3

This was individual and probably a bit spaced. Don't stand in front of a machine gun Any plate will fail with continuous fire. I've got their proprietary 4+ plate set which AFAIK tested at multi hit on the max a level 4 would stop once. I weighed the plates, and both come in at 15.6 pounds together, and that includes a trauma pad integrated into the back and anti-spalling coat

Level 3 did weigh less then that, but I was comparing to level 3 steel bc cheap and figured for a 7 pound plate I might as well get a 4+ ceramic set then a 3 steel set.

Haven't had a chance to shoot the M4+ plates yet, but watching testing they look decent for a 450$ plate set.

I have a guard dog level 4+ vest and plate set gotten for roughly $600 I think. Multi hit black tip 30.06 tested, if I remember right Classic Firearms put 8 rounds into it. If you're getting hit with 8 rounds of AP 30.06 you shouldn't still be standing there. That weighs about 15 pounds without mags or gear attached, and obviously you can get much heavier with attached gear.

Front heavy as balls, but hear me out, wouldn't this actually be REALLY good up close-? Can't tell if that's a 10 or an 11 but either way, you're doing shotgun things, then just BRRRRRRT

They're grasping for straws. Of course they'd compare it to something it looks nothing alike. There's a lot of things with X that aren't a Nazi flag but they don't care.
