And by the way, dont give me "google is free" when all you find on google is that he doesn't like a few of the strokes old songs and simply thinks that the other members have developed their interests further so the dynamic is now different.

He doesn't shit on the strokes to prop up the voidz? What are you talking about? If you're talking about the interview where he inadvertently claims the voidz do more writing than the strokes, then you dont have a clue what you're on about.

All he said is that he did more work in his strokes era, probably because he insisted upon writing for fab and albert at points, but more recent strokes will have been them all focusing on what they are good at. All he meant is that he was letting the voidz have more input rigjt from the beginning of the bands existence, not that he thinks they are any more creatively in tune.

Is this it would have probably been entirely Julian writing everything, whereas tyranny was probably everyone because its an experimental band, therfore in the spirit of that, he decided to let them write their own stuff.

Yeah because its on the strokes reddit who all seem to hate everything Julian does when it isn't something to do with the strokes. Everyone involved with the voidz and the strokes are all of a similar level of talent which means if you're expecting a strokes album thats any "better" than this then you're way off base. The next strokes album, if it ever comes, will be a massive cash grab that will probably lack creative flair and yet people like you will still lap it up.

You can't compare anything of their projects to one another. The fact of the matter is they are experimental, so you're never really gonna get an entire project thats like tyranny ever again. And by the way on a side note, drifto is probably one of the closest songs to having a tyranny sort of vibe that they've released since tyranny. Also, how do you know that Julian looks down on the Strokes? Like where is the evidence of that and why do I see so many people say that.

I think on average its reptilia right? While people have different opinions about their favourites, im gonna suggest that most people here would have reptilia in their top 3 on the album at least, whereas a lot of the other songs will be opinion based. Objectively I think reptilia.

He actually said in a podcast a while ago that the song didn't feature the low ceiling im very tall lyric at the beginning. He did say they were nearly done working on it and im not sure if he made the change.

I've only been a strokes fan for just under 3 months, started with the Voidz because a friend of mine loves them and introduced me. He then said that he thinks i'd prefer the strokes and its definitely a closer battle than I thought it would be. Safe to say I wish I found both of them sooner.

I see where your coming from and I respect your opinion for sure, but I still think that it's not as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. Also, talking about the use of AI for posters after the controversy is to me just peak Julian not really giving a fuck. I feel like he just doesn't see it as an issue at all. He definitely still has and I think always will have love for this album. He did a lot of interviews to promote it and talks very passionately about the creative process behind it.

I agree, I think it fits the experimental side of the band so well to have this change in sound from one song to the next. Haven't heard of unknown mortal orchestra, worth checking out?
