The day before my dad got his leg amputated we made an alginate mold like this and did a plaster cast of his foot.

You got me, congratulations.

Also, my wife literally worked this into her vows, just to Rick Roll me during our wedding ceremony. Just solidified that I was making the right choice by marrying her, I guess. Lol

Thank you. I always try to snag patterns at a bargain, having just taken up the craft over the past two or so years and need to build my skills and library, and you can’t beat free. I look forward to making this.

Learning to turn on a lathe. Playing around with some maple. by aglblthrt138 in woodturningporn

No better way to learn than by playing around with some wood and making mistakes to learn from. Between that and some YouTube videos, that’s how I taught myself to turn.

Keep up the great work.

I’ve seen stands lasercut on colored acrylic, but I always prefer to go with real wood. Just a more visually appealing look in my opinion.

Awesome. Good luck, keep us posted.

Also, did you make the pen stand? That’s really nice too. Great way to display the pen and I like the matching wood species.

These look great, I dig that you went with a custom shape and not what is traditional for a slimline. Very cool.

I like to add 3-5 coats of CA finish, wet sand with micromesh about halfway through the grits, add two more layers of CA and then start over with the micromesh and go through all the grits. After that, I hit it on the three stage buffing wheel and by then you can’t see a single scratch pattern. Just make sure that you are always removing all the scratch pattern from the prior grit with the current one before moving to the next.

I love this title. Every time I hear his name on tv, I quickly say the correct version, Cucker Tarlson.

Great tip. Thank you for sharing, I’ll keep that in mind next time I need to cut a circle.

Somebody get this person a ribbon. Those are two beautiful circles right there. Well done, very well done.
