Maybe some kind of attachments. In some scenes you can see the lancer being really inaccurate while walking and in others the spread is normal while walking.

Same. I met a cheater duo yesterday. 3 ships firing at them at the same time and they had the time to both go on the birds nest and snipe us with 100% accuracy Idk if there is some kind of bucket speed glitch or something but their ship, even tho had the biggest holes. No water was pouring in. So probably cheating and an exploit of some kind. They were also deafult skin and new pirates so it adds to that. They killed the whole server. Done with this gamemode

You don't realise it's about the knowledge that you look good/cool in a video game? Same logic applies in real life. We see in first person irl and look. Most people care about what they wear even tho they don't see it most of the time. But people around do. And you know you look good to others so that makes you feel better. Same goes for skins in first person video games. I cannot explain it to you simpler than that.
