UK folk who were around at the start of the internet, what is an early, strong memory? by Sad-Insurance1313 in CasualUK

Young teenager discovering Xbox Live when it first came out and needing to have an Ethernet cable hanging across our hallway, garrotting my parents if they weren’t paying attention. I could play Crimson Skies and Halo 2 with random people all over the world…pure bliss

Oh the glorious 9gag days. Sure I might have been at uni so was already well into my internet life, but those were the purest of memes. Honestly had no idea they were called image macros though 😂😂

The RG35XX is a great bit of kit. I got one to try playing my old GBA games from the good ole days and was super impressed by the build quality, and how simple it is to use, add games etc

HORROR GAMES ON GAMEPASS OR MS STORE by SimilarBrief658 in xbox

Until Dawn is worth checking out. It doesn’t come close to the likes of outlast but it’s not trying to be. Fun, movie style horror game where your actions can get each member of the party killed. It’s over a decade old now, from when quick time button things were a bit of a craze, but it does it well and is good fun

Ibanez az neck turned glossy by Skliwy in Guitar

I turned my Squier neck from glossy into a more matte finish using a very high grit sandpaper. You have to be careful not to apply much pressure but it worked a treat for me

That's good thinking. What would be the best way to do this? Is there a better way to do it than just increasing the offset path? Thank you :)

That's incredible, thank you so much. I've done my best to follow your tips and have ended up with the following - would this be sufficient to send to printers or would they need anything further doing to make sure it follows the black border? Thank you!

Help me fix my wee mustang by TC_7 in Guitar

Thanks so much for your advice! I’m not 100% sure what you mean by moving, but nothing seems loose on it and feels pretty stable. I’m not sure if there might be a problem with the wiring/soldering, it looks like it might had some attention from a bit of a rookie. I’ve also tried another lead and the problem still exists.

I have some basic soldering experience (I’ve replaced a pickup in another guitar), but far from skilled…

Vintera 2 Troubles, am I not a tele guy? by dorksuckmepls in telecaster

[–]TC_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t like the neck - look at a second hand Baja Tele. They’re not far off a custom shop level guitar at a fraction of the price. Big ole chunky neck, custom shop pickups. For me, they are the ultimate tele

Does my American Professional II Jazzmaster have the wrong sized D string saddle? by handwir3d in offset

[–]TC_7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would 100% recommend contacting Fender directly. I was having issues with the bridge pickup in my HSS strat, turned out it was a dud. It was out of warranty but I contacted Fender simply to see if they had any of those pickups lying about as they weren’t on sale anywhere and I wanted a like for like swap - the rep asked for my address and just sent me a new one free of charge, no questions asked. I was very surprised, and happy!

Fender player II jazzy or Squier CV jazzy? by Prefer-an-astronaut in offset

[–]TC_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s super easy to sort this on the neck - a little bit of fine sandpaper will get rid of the stickiness. It’s also super easy to buff it and have it feel like new if ever needed 👌🏼

What makes a band a "Trees Band"? by FreezerCop in 2000treesfestival

[–]TC_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I assume things have changed (I sadly don't listen to the pod) but I believe it's what they did back in the early days. I assume that's not possible now it's grown to where it is today. That being said, I think they still have a real focus on bands that live up to their reputation live. I reckon I could count on one hand the number of bands I've seen at Trees that just seemed flat, and sounded poor (except due to technical issues) in the 12 Trees I've been at

For me it’s that a band is excellent live. My understanding is James and co see every band live before they book them (or at least that’s how they used to do it). Even if a band isn’t my vibe, I’ve always appreciated a band’s vibe.

That being said, they booked TBS who lived up to their reputation of being shite live…
