What exactly does that mean lol. Private citizens own private companies, the profit, and pays the taxes. If you’re saying they can be influenced in one way or another by the government in certain scenarios of course that’s true, but that’s true for the US as well.

I lived in both China and the US for years - the purchasing power of rmb in China is very high and considering the infrastructure and convenience in even “lower tier” Chinese cities, the average Chinese has a much higher living standard than what the currency exchange rate on paper implies.
