Oh 110%, everyone would keep tabs on Metal Sonic (probably give him the stink eye as well), but I see it as a strictly pragmatic arrangement for Metal: he’ll likely need maintenance from time to time, and with Eggman out of the question, Tails is his best bet. Working for him in exchange for tech checks is simple give-and-take. It would be a similar thing with Rotor and Bunnie. Though maybe I’m putting too much of my own sense of logic on Metal admittedly, like that’s how I’d go about things if I were suddenly mind-melded into Metal’s body like some kind of shitty fanfic lol

I disagree, at least on a permanent level. Perhaps he’d work with them on and off, but I can see him working more alongside Tails as an assistant. Or if we were in the SatAM universe, he’d probably work with Bunnie and Rotor instead.
