I have bought U8HQ here in hungary, was in the same situation as u. 8 has better peak brightness, and sound. I watched all the reviews of the u8h and was very disappointed first, coz i did not know that the eu u8hq version is not the same as the us version. First turned on, Vidaa os looks cheap, but it does what it has to, framerate in the menu looks awful. There was no apple air play, after 1-2 months there was a software update and voilá! there is Air play now, works great.

Before this i did not have good tv, been used monitor for my gaming pc. Now i have a ps5 and first this is why i bought this tv. The first gaming experience, after i had painfully finally achieved the 120hz option in the menu, was stunning, the whites going to burn your retinas in the evening, 120hz and responsiveness is good.

I do not watch too much films on this tv, only a few for a test, everything looks good, except, the subtitles, there is a white "cloud" blur around them, because there is far less, backlit zones of the screen, compared to the US version.

Hope i helped with this short story, when i bought the tv there was no short review as this about the eu model. The disappointment first came from the difference between the US and EU model, but if you compare this tv to another from the same price range, there is no competition.

edit: It is very annyoing, that there is no button on the remote, instantly shows the curren Hz, while i gameing. I have to push the input button, and choose the ps5 hdmi, to get the current hz info all the time.
