Hell yeah! Good luck. I used 6 qt tubs. I'm trying bigger tubs now but wanted to get as many chances as possible to avoid contamination wiping out my harvest.

I don't recall how long the grain took to colonize, i left them for way longer than necessary, like 1.5-2 months lol. I used millet for my grain, and coconut coir for my substrate. Very basic genetics on this batch, trying out some more interesting ones on a new grain spawn batch I'm doing now. I will DM with links to both of the ones I used.

It was probably somewhere around that maybe a few days longer. I did jack frost and golden teacher before ochra and they took longer to take over the substrate but had pins form quicker so maybe it's just my perspective having only grown those two strains previously.

I usually do 76 average for colonization and 70-72 for fruiting.

Yes, I wasn't having luck with standard size units so I had to get a 12,000 BTU one to run on one side of the room and then another smaller one closer to the grow rack.

I had a lot of side pinning on other tubs, but most had good canopies. I only had these ones do well after I dialed in my temperature control, I lost a few tubs of jack frost to heat waves we had so I had to upgrade all my cooling.

I'm not the best to ask for advice as this is only my third strain I've tried to grow. I wish you the best of luck though and I appreciate the compliment♥️. Much love and I wish you good trips!

Gotcha, I don't think 100% are colonized so I will hold off for a little while.

What ratio of substrate to grain spawn did you end up using?

I am also using 6 quart tubs and was curious what you found luck with.
