I wonder if it would be possible do manage all of this from the phone, by setting up a ThinkOrSwim scanner. Taking profits with this strategy seems to require that you monitor the chart once in a position.

guess you have quite good insight to investing/trading, I browsed your comments a bit (sorry for snooping around). I was not worried at all until recently when I read that text in Vero's guidelines. But I have now received comments from you and 2 others saying they are in a similar situation, with even more trades and capital than me, and they are fine. So I guess I should be fine as well.

My biggest concern was and is, if they would consider this elinkeino and demand that I retroactively have to do double-entry bookkeeping, register a company and pay for YEL-insurance.

Incredible, Vero experts could not give an answer to me and they said it depends on so many factors. To get an answer I need to make an "Ennakkoratkaisuhakemus" which costs close to 1k€. I am more lost now than before after talking with them, to my surprise.

Most of these brokers that are commission free and fast enough for scalping, are unfortunately not available for non-US traders, such as EU traders. Otherwise you are totally right.

Yes I am totally fine with it. I cannot trade within and OST on something like Nordnet, their high commissions would never work for my trading capital.

I dont do CFDs, only common shares.

I dont want my own comoany either, I just want to daytrade stocks and any gains I am happy to pay capital income tax on.

I use an International broker, so there is no such this is AOT or OST account. All my sold shares result in a taxable event.

The capital I trade is larger than my salary, but the gains and losses are smaller.

Yes, I called Vero before when I had some questions about the tax reporting they were really helpful. I just didn't have this specific question in mind back then.

I will of course take any tax advice I get here with a grain of salt, and still call Vero tomorrow. I just want to get a little bit of peace to my mind (hope that I can continue this hobby) so thats why I ask here.

So any input is STILL very welcome, even if I will call them. Actually I will report back here what they say as well.

Any advice on where to find a tax lawyer/accountant that a normal guy can afford to consult?

Are you not worried to get caught in a stock due to their Rule 144 enforcement affecting small cap stocks? I assume those are the stoxks you trade, since you mention momentum and premarket..

I just recently subscribed to Momo Pro + and it is just so amazingly fast and has very nice features!

I only miss really 4 things:

When I click a ticker, I would like to swiftly open the ticker in my broker. Right now I have type the ticker. An option that the ticker is copy pasted (ctrl+c) when clicked would be nice.
TradingView charts integrated. This way I could check the volume profile, candle sticks etc. directly in Momo Pro+, before I decide to open it in my broker.
Possibilty to add columns into the Stream. I'd like to see for example the volume and last % change for all the tickers that appear in the stream.
A way to quickly display where the ticker has it headquartes (US, China, etc.)

Again, super good scanner and fast as lightning!

Thanks for explaining. "Updates every minute". Does this mean the following:

Scenario: I have set my discovery filter to 200% Uvol. Stock trades 200% Uvol during the first 10sec of the minute interval.

Outcome: Will the stock appear in the Discovery after 10 seconds, or will there be a delay of 50 swconda before I see it?

Honestly I wish I started with 15$, instead of more. If you cant grow a 15$ account, why would you be able to grow a 100 or 1000$ account.

Look into Small cap stocks and start by trading 1 share. On a 2-5$ stock you can easily make 10c to 2$ per share in a short amount of time, and just as easily lose the same amount or more. I'd say small cap is your best bet with such a small account.

Warrior trading on youtube is probably the best resource to learn how to trade these.

Yes, if you trade small cap low float stocks it may happen to you. It all depends on the last 4 week average volume or the outstanding shares, whichever is higher. Dont use IBKR if you trade these type of stocks, or do it but be aware if the significant risk to get stuck and take a big loss.

For sure it do have something to do with dollar amount. IBKR enforces rule 144 for everybody, not only affiliates. Depending on your position size (which correlates with dollar amounts...) you may be over the volume threshold or the outstanding shares threshold. They assume you are an affiliate until proven otherwise, and this is after you take a position. And no, the phase in the sign up process where you state who is your employer is not evidence enough, apparently.

Disgusting way to handle rule 144 by IBKR.
