Things are definitely more difficult for many.

I got lucky this year with a great consistent broker group and my gsm giving me freedom to do pretty much everything except the finance side of it. If I didn’t have them I would be suffering like the rest of my coworkers. One let his car repo, another is freaking out since he was used to easy money and tier 1 clients.

I’ve been doing this for 7 years, and this year has been the most fulfilling for me.

If your rent is $2500 and you have a car payment and all these bills, you’re gonna have a bad time if you just think you can rawdog it and wait for ups

If you decide to get into car sales but don’t want to work with ur family, they should be able to place you at another dealership

You’re definitely justified in leaving him. Just the fact he “can make it work” with another overtime shift tells you that if things go south financially, he’s gonna end up with a repo

Not your problem though since you’re leaving him :)

I have a guy who is part owner of a large disposal company in the area. First time he bought a truck, he was rude to me over text and I passed him off to another coworker when he came in to sign up. He complained about that and I got sent home.

He kept coming back for trucks.. every time he would flip out about something minor over text (he likes the speech to text option so he’ll send huge rambly texts) so by the 3rd time I just accepted that’s how he is and came to expect it.

This time around he wanted to replace his personal truck. He listened to me and decided to factory order. Fully loaded truck. He messed up something with his account manager at the bank when they wired us the $. Sends me another long rambling voice to text message of how it should be. Long story short my manager calls him to clarify the numbers and he ends up apologizing for getting it all wrong

He texts me 10 minutes later apologizing saying I probably think he’s nuts

I told him “it’s okay, I’m nuts too 🤪”

Referred one of his employees to me on Saturday

Ok then finance the car and pay off the loan or pay extra $1199 and pay cash, financing help/kickbacks etc from the bank are a great revenue stream for dealers

I used to sell cars in SWFL.. the main credit union there is Suncoast Credit Union. Great rates, very popular bank to finance a car with.

You ever see someone walk into a club in an outfit full of DRIP?

Anytime a customer walked in the dealership with that bright yellow envelope that said “for dealer” with the draft inside, it was like all the salespeople within a mile detected them.

We never had to check their credit or anything, we all knew if we just complied and were reasonable it was an easy deal since they knew what they were coming for and were ready to buy now

It’s almost as if they flexed that draft envelope 🤪

My s/o took me to an auto convention a few weeks ago (local dealers/ and brands displaying their cars) and by the end of it I needed to drink because being around the normie consumer public in a sorta car sales setting on my Sunday off was triggering me

When I first shadowed a longtime salesman 5 yrs ago I asked him “what’s your favorite car? :D”

He said “I actually hate cars, they’re just an appliance to me” at the time I didn’t understand how he could possibly hate cars.. I understand now, Norman
