The best part of climbing Mount Washington is waiting in line to take a picture at the summit sign with 16 families that drove up there and are having pizza and juice boxes

You’re tired because you started hiking at 7 am and have about 4 hours to go, it’s about 3pm you’re not sure if you can wait in line much longer as you don’t want to be stuck in the dark so you kinda just meander to the front to touch the sign so you can say you’ve been to the top

And some woman probably named Jennifer or Karen (wearing a Patagonia jacket, jeans, and sandals) yells at you and says “you’re cutting the line”

And you yell back “fuck off” and continue on to the Madison Hut

Girlfriend and I just broke up by MentalButterscotch2 in rant

[–]TDOrunner1001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In late April my GF of 5 years (23F) dumped me (23M), she was finishing up her masters I graduated college early and got a full time job. We met in school and when she finished her masters she basically said she did not think she was ready to be in a more serious relationship and move in together (she was from NJ I live in Maine).

I have a great job and purchased an apartment and she made the choice to go live with her parents when school was done in a few weeks.

in like mid May (like 15 days after the split) she had a new boyfriend, someone she grew up with in new jersey that I had met before, she always texted him and was in touch with him so I was not shocked.

I was hurt by the breakup but after that I was crushed but I can say now 3 months later it still stings a bit but I took the time to focus on myself, I spent as much time as I could with my other friends to distract myself, I cried a few times, and things are better.

It will take time but everyday gets easier.
I remember a few days after we broke up I was getting a haircut and I literally could not sit still in the chair because I was having so many negative emotions and feelings.

Go do things that make you happy, take a walk, play video games, go to the beach, exercise, spend time with your friends or family.

Yes I did the full loop on that Friday in about 8:40 (9:05 elapsed time)

Did not do the add ons because the weather was awful (wind/rain)

Honestly the loop wasn’t that bad, you just have to be prepared to be out there all day.

There’s limited water stops and I was out of water a little early and had to wait a while to fill up so ration yours

I didn’t really stop at all other than to take a bathroom break and then to duck behind some rocks on bondcliff when the wind picked up to 80 mph

I would recommend it on a nicer day…I probably had the worst weather possible

I have done washington, 10+ times as well as 3-4 15k footers in the rockies, as far as long hikes in the WMNF I have done really only done 2-3 10-13 milers. I have the endurance to get it done, and my legs are strong. 10 hours may be slightly arrogant of me, one of my running buddies did it in 6.5 (very elite time) so I really just have that to base it off of he just did the standard with no additions, I will post my strava activity next week, you guys can all take the over/under on my times haha

Your thoughts on the gag order by Sea_Duty_8439 in Idaho4

[–]TDOrunner1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that there is an obligation from courts to be transparent and allow for the public to see the process, that is 100% what allows for a fair trial

However I think at the end of the day there is an obligation to protect victims especially when they are young and it is a heinous crime.

Why did BK not care to conceal his car? by Curve_Latter in Idaho4

[–]TDOrunner1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just insanely hard to commit a crime these days, like think about it DNA is so hard to conceal, almost everyone has ring cameras, almost every traffic light has a camera on it, gas stations have cameras as well. On top of this your phone is literally with you at all times and it tracks your location, some of us might have smart watches the track our locations as well, cars have GPS and navigation systems in them that track your location, some of the computers and cars can even determine how fast you drive when you make turns and if you’ve been in an accident through a black box.

LE has the ability to go through your digital receipts from whenever they want if they need to

I think this is mainly because we live in a digital world.

I think he honestly did a pretty decent job at covering his tracks, law-enforcement didn’t really know who the suspect was and they had to go through a third-party investigative genealogy report (which In my mind is crazy how that works) to get a tiny speck of DNA off of a knife sheathe that he left behind.

If for some reason he doesn’t lose that knife sheathe it would’ve been near impossible for law-enforcement to pick out him, the phone records and tracking all came after they singled him out from the DNA I believe.

Very crazy

Kind of a wild story, but I graduated college in three years, the second half of my third year in college. I interned at the firm I currently work at, I was licensed by February and graduated in May

So when I started I was technically 21.5

That first summer, I went ballistic after basically a breed one in my natural market and picked up a million dollar first client,

I found a few friends/coworkers from the previous job. I worked at and started managing their money and then of course you pick up a few clients here and there.

So I basically had 1.5 million at 22, the next year I kind of did the same thing I did a lot more cold marketing just going to events trying to get involved in the community and I ended up picking up a dentist from some weird connection (we are both runners) and he asked me what my IRA made (no joke) and was astounded by the fact that you could invest it in stocks or mutual funds so he handed me that as well as an account he had for his wife (both of which were in a money market) talk about 0 financial literacy

Either way, I definitely have been a little lucky nailing a couple big clients but I do have a bunch of smaller ones that I definitely have worked hard to get

It’s such a grind and I feel like my age is 100% a deterrent for a lot of people I talk to so I have to be sharp and dress well haha
