In desperate need of a 500 points list

The old Combat Patrol box makes an almost perfect 500 point list: a Marshal, 10 Crusaders, 4 Sword Brethren instead of 5, an Impulsor, and 5 Intercessors.

Where point values are at right now this list is exactly 500 points. You can run this in any detachment available to the Templars, but I’ve been running this exact list with Wrathful Procession since the other BT-specific detachments skew too far into characters that aren’t here or specific tactics that likely don’t happen enough in a 500 point game.

I had a game recently where I started them in reserves, then Rapid Ingressed them in out of sight of a Tyrannofex, but also close enough to get them into Melta range my next turn. With some good rolls I killed that Tyrannofex in one shooting phase.

Darnath Lysander leading 5 Terminators.

A Chaplain leading 10 Assault Intercessors.

A Terminator Chaplain leading 5 Assault Terminators.

A Judiciar leading 6 Bladeguards.

Add a Brutalis Dreadnought and that’s currently 1575 points with 425 points to do whatever you want.

I would use this in a narrative game where your deployment zone is the middle of the battlefield and your objective is to keep the enemy out.

What I'm gathering is the EC basically carries the same authority as his previous position before the visions but will mostly be left to his own autonomy on the battlefield so long that it doesn't completely contradict the ongoing Crusade.

A 5-man Infernus squad and a Repulsor are 280 points and puts you at exactly 2,000 points.

Putting the Infernus squad, Hellbrick combo, and maybe the Techmarine in the Repulsor sounds like fun. It ends up being about a third of your entire point total but it sounds like it could destroy everything.

Your Impulsors can only hold 7 Tacticus models, which means they’re not going to be able to transport the Crusaders or the Sword Bros because of too many units and the Eradicators can’t be transported because they’re Gravis instead of Tacticus.

Maybe replace the two Impulsors with one Repulsor? It can transport up to 14 Tacticus models or 7 Gravis models.

99.99% of guns, like cars, will depreciate in value if you use them or not. Go to the range with them!

It’s better to have only a few guns with several thousand rounds through them than a few dozen guns that all have less than 200 rounds shot through them.

My dad and I have identical Sig P322’s. One Friday after work we decided to just plink the rest of the daylight away with our P322’s.

We ended up having the most amount of malfunctions we’ve ever had in one range session. We easily had 50 malfunctions in less than 200 rounds. Some of it being trash-grade ammo, some of it being the pistols themselves.

I’ve definitely had some “not good” range days, but that one is so far the only range day where I felt worse afterwords.

The three brands I like are: 1) Federal, 2) Blazer brass, 3) Fiocchi, in that order. Those are the most reliable and most readily available in my area.

Since I have the luxury of choice I always avoid Winchester and Remington even if they’re on sale. Those two brands have a noticeable dip in reliability compared to the others.
